Jesus the Caps play Boston and New Jersey next

We’re picking 9th or 10th boys
You should check out who the Blues and Wings play too lol

No chance we keep 8th unless we lose to both the Ducks and Coyotes.

The Nucks do have a secret Tank they can deploy more often that could seal the losses:

Enter the "Chaos Giraffe".

This beast went all-out rogue against the Kings and was more often behind the Kings goal than his own.

Playing him for 30+ should do it.

“Myers is a top 4 defenceman, he’s just overpaid by $1-2 million.”

The Canucks will probably be running out two defenceman who were in the NCAA two weeks ago and a below-average backup goaltender. There's a considerable chance they keep the 8th spot.

I was somewhat excited for last night's game hoping to see Petey getting 100 points.
I turned it off with a smirk on my face after witnessing Myers juggling the puck between his skates and lead to the 2-0 goal.
Tank commander at his finest.

If they keep him for next year (and I don't think they should) they should seriously consider deploying him as a right winger.

If the team is trying to win out the season, why are they playing two defencemen with zero NHL experience and giving their backup goaltender the most difficult starts?
Because our other defencemen are just as bad, if not worse, and Demko recently came off a serious injury. These moves might not necessarily be “win now” moves but they are certainly designed to benefit how the team plans for next season and are not “tank” moves.

The Canucks Franchise appears to be awful at everything, including tanking.

Compare this sleek machine:

The language is funny there, "Ducks look to halt 11-game skid in clash vs. Canucks". When a skid gets to 11 games, it's pretty clear you didn't just slip or trip. It's pretty clear you threw yourself on the ground. And 11 games is more than a skid, it's more like a freefall. It's diving off a building into the top of the draft.

They're not looking to halt any damn skid, the sleazy beautiful tanking bastards.

Moves to deliberately, obviously tank are incredibly rare in the NHL. The team is pretty clearly not trying to win.

Demko's been back for six weeks, and I didn't say they weren't playing him. They're playing Delia in games likely to be harder to win.

It's amazing how many scoring chances the opposing team has when he's on the ice. And quality ones. They'd clearly be better off with him as a healthy scratch. Management or coaches can't see this but the average fan can?

Still playing Hughes 26 minutes a game is a clear sign they're trying to win these last few meaningless games.

I think they are doing some tanking things and some win-now / set up next year things. Ultimately, they did more of the latter since January but I think are pivoting to the former for the last half dozen or so games because they feel Tochett has turned this team around, to a degree, and feel much better about next year. But make no mistake, since January, and for the vast majority of this "tank run", they have been prioritizing setting up next year's team to make the playoffs rather than obtaining this highest possible pick. But that isn't to say they don't want a high pick, and clearly they are weighing both options and trying to pursue both, but they are somewhat mutually exclusive, and its clear which option - since January - has been preferred.

I wish we had the Montreal management team. Tanking would not be an option…cause it’s what they are doing and trading for more 1st round picks!

You knew the Yotes were a superior franchise when they somehow convince GMJB and FA to give up a top-10 pick plus take on OEL and CG but this is simply majestic, awe-inspiring work:

LB, could you give us an idea of your top 10 for this draft?
LB, could you give us an idea of your top 10 for this draft?
Absolutely, ill give top 8 after going over it again.

I’ll also set them up in tiers.

Tier Legend
- Bedard

Tier 1 ( High end Superstar)
- Michkov
- Fantilli

Tier 2 ( Superstar )
-Carlsson
-Smith
-Benson
-Moore
- Reinbacher

(Draft is very deep top end)

After that there is imo a drop, a decent drop.
