Honestly not sure what the point of this post is or what kind of reaction/response you want from me here. I don't have a great memory but I don't recall making any kind of claims about the Sabres being good or winning.

Bruh TB traded a haul for Tanner Jeannot if they want literally one of the best players on the Sabres who has an insanely cheap contract they would have to pay big considering they are contenders easily with him.....

Tuch is maybe a bit better than Cirelli but his contract is up fairly soon and he's a winger. There is just no reason for the Bolts to do that. Cernak is a Mcdonagh merchant with injury problems so if Buffalo wants him I guess that works out.

Feels like the Lightning would be better off upgrading a couple of the real shitty spots in the bottom six than focusing all their resources into a guy like Tuch who is extremely overqualified to be their #5/6 forward.

You’ve got Girgensons, Glendening, Atkinson and Sheary (I guess Sheary not regularly but he’s there and little room for guys being out) still playing regularly. You’ve could easily upgrade two of those spots significantly with way less outlay than to chase Tuch, and maybe reduce the soft/blackhole minutes that exist when you have to give the big guns a rest.

Come on, there’s no reason to ramp up the hostility. TB wants to upgrade the roster by trading a futures only package while they are still in a Cup window. Sabres are, unfortunately, in limbo. No playoffs on the horizon, no need of futures. They just can’t trade Tuch.

The Sabres do need to evaluate whether Tuch is going to resign. And if the answer is probably “no”…I’d definitely consider trading him.

He will be worth 1st + at the TDL in 2025 - but if you want to maximize his value in a “hockey trade”, now is the time to do it. He's a year younger now. He’s got two playoff runs in him on a cheap AAV for somebody now. The difference in value return for a pure rental versus a guy with 1.5 years left is pretty monumental.

Tampa certainly does not have the assets they would part with for the Sabres to consider, but others might. I get it - the team has been playing better, you are trying to build winning and culture and maybe want to say to your fans “we are keeping our veteran star for 25-26 because we are committed to winning”. But if you get to March 2025 and he hasn’t resigned and is going to bolt in a few months - I think you are playing with fire and looking at a far less appealing situation.

If you can do a hockey deal by this deadline for a guy who helps and has more control, go for it. I don’t see that guy (or guy+) on the Lightning roster that they’d give up.

I want Tuch this year and next more than I want to be the team to give him his 6-7 year retirement extension that is all in his 30’s.

Smart teams will pay more for Tuch now at this deadline than when he’s tied into his next extension.

The GM has said hes looking to do hockey trades, not magic bean trades.

Tuch getting traded would be a serious PR problem if all it's for are magic beans
