If pointing out that our elite scorers flat out failed vs MTL and CBJ is "finding a scapegoat", then sure.

nothing vague about it. the goal was scored. the reasons for it being disallowed were borderline even for a regular season game, let alone a game 7.

he allowed a 2nd goal, which was then disallowed.
Incorrect. That’s a blatant falsehood. The whistle was blown well before Tavares even shot. I understand you’re upset but there’s no need to lie.

Imagine lying about me ever blaming the refs for any of the other series.

is it even possible for any factor to be petty in a series decided by 1 goal?
I’ve seen you complain about refs in EVERY. SINGLE. SERIES.

Every year they lose, and every year you come here to show us why they’re actually the better team and next year is the year.

Rinse and repeat

No Bolt scored more goals than Tavares this series, and only 2 bolts scored more points (hedman 1 more point, Kucherov 2 more points) and both of them were minuses.

And Tavares also had a goal stolen from him.
😂 it was the right call. People in the center of the hockey universe certainly must know the rules, no? Stop the whining, you’re embarrassIng yourself.

disallowed? it never counted. your definition of a goal is "puck crossed the line whether play was active or blown dead", so again, might as well count all the warm-up shots that went in the net too. maybe you can find a way to hold that against vasy too so your slant is a full on tilt

A healthy TBL was 9th in xGF% this season. Same spot as last season, with the important difference that they didn't have Kucherov sitting out the entire season.

This isn't the TBL of yesteryear. Is it because they don't care anymore? Or because they lack the depth of earlier seasons, and the number of games their core has accumulated over the past 3 seasons?

They don’t care about the regular season. They care about the postseason. That’s why all the advanced stats and predictions are underestimating Tampa.

They’ve won the regular season trophys. Now they are focused on the Cup. And they also know seeding and home ice is incredibly overrated. They’ve won G7s on the road, lost to an 8 seed, had favorable paths, had terrible paths… it’s relatively random.

The question is whether this years team is better than the last 2. It’s incredibly close. Gourde, Coleman, and Goodrow are big losses, but Paul/Hagel aren’t too far off. Perry is a nice add. The D is similar, if not better (Foote was amazing). Stammer was hurt the first Cup run. Colton has been getting better.

The East has gotten better, the Bolts truly haven’t gotten worse. IMO they’ve always been the team to beat once the playoffs began

They played great and had the series wrapped up with a lead going into the third of game 6.

Then they got nervous, stopped doing what made them successfull and lost the series.

Thats a choke.

Eh it’s the playoffs.

The Bolts actually should have wrapped it up in G6. Have we forgotten they held 2-0 leads in both game 5 and game 6?

The Leafs were constantly chasing and trailing the last half of the series.

Kudos to them for coming back in G5, G6 and G7 but Leaf fans seem to forget how abnormal it is for that to happen.

There was never a goal. There was a penalty called, the play was whistled dead, and he shot the puck into the net. It's no different than shooting into an empty net after time expired. There's no shot on goal. No save recorded. It didn't happen.

Exactly, Holl makes one of the worst blatant pick plays, Ref blows whistle, before Tavares shoots.
Right, and for some reason there are people still calling it a disallowed goal. Nothing was called back. There was a penalty. Nothing else matters after that.

Toronto will be top of the league for the next five years. Just stay the course and make some depth adjustments.

They need those big body, wide body's that can bring physicality. Cut the fluff like Kase, Engvall, Holl type players.

Not gonna read this thread, seems very toxic lol. Congrats Tampa, it was a hell of a series. Both teams fought hard and in the end the more experienced team won. The Leafs have a solid core, but in order for us to get over the hump there needs to be major changes. The forward group needs revamping. Kase, Mikheyev, Simmonds, Spezza, Kerfoot all need to be replaced. I know it is highly unlikely they are all gone but something needs to be done. Holl and Muzzin need to be moved as well. Our powerplay is too passive, it would help to have someone with a heavy shot at the point. We tend to get too cute and look for the perfect pass, just need to get the puck on net in the playoffs. While I love Campbell, I just cant trust him to be a number 1. Go after Varlamov/Gibson/Hellebuyck/Kuemper via trade or free agency in Kuempers case. Goalie market is going to be rough this off season so I fully expect Campbell to be back, but at the very minimum we need to get rid of Mrazek and have a capable 1B, maybe that can be someone like Ville Husso. I also want to see Keefe gone, he seems as if he is way in over his head. Trotz style might not suit this teams build, but I think it could work out really well like it did for the Capitals. Again I know not all of this will happen, but they need to fix a lot of things on this team in order to build a legit playoff team.

They're worse. As much as I want to believe they're about on par, that third line just isn't. Yet.

Two players fighting for a loose puck and fall down, then another player recovers loose puck and scores a goal.
I can also see Killron taking Muzzin's stick and fundmenatlly obstructing what Muzzin can do during the play.
