Was a tough one to watch. Except for Murphy, Lindholm and Sekera, this team can't make / receive a pass to save their lives.

From now on, whenever there is a trade Skinner proposal, we should remember how anemic the offense looks when when he isn't in the line-up.

They flat out weren't even skating tonight. Aside from Murphy and occasionally Semin it seemed like EVERYONE on the team was coasting out there.

Peters is the only reason this one wasn't uglier then it was.

It's time to make changes from the top, and I don't mean Muller. Time to retire JR. Someone new basically telling everyone "from here out you all start at nothing to me, give me a reason for keeping you here or I'll ship your ass out" may be the spark this team needs.

Tampa was flat out mediocre, anemic even, and they still beat us in every facet of the game. And it's been going on WAY too many times since the end of the 05-06 season. The Conference Finals run in 09 was a fluke, that was a mediocre team that got hot at the right time.

I don't think it is a complete coincidence that our 4 game losing steak coincides with Justin Peters becoming our starting goaltender. This team has no confidence in their ability to win with Peters in net. It's what we are all thinking. Don't you think it's possible a lot of the players feel the same way?

Our forwards continue to play high as they were with Ward/Khudobin, but i feel like they take even less chances with Peters. It seems like some of our defensemen are making more mental mistakes now, probably because they overthink they game because they are worried about giving up a good scoring chance with Peters in net.

TLDR: Blame Peters It's the easy thing to do.

The team wasn't scoring much with Ward/Anton, but they were still scoring more.

Even though Peters hasn't lost us any games thus far, just watching him in net makes me uncomfortable, even if he has a good game.

My energy crystals and Electropsychometer tells me that Peters emits an overwhelming amount of LOSING ENERGY.

Blaming Peters is easy but if that's the reason the team can't score because they're too worried about the goalie in net, that tells me I don't want those players on my team. Cam nor Anton are god in net anyway.

A team can't win scoring 0 goals

This is too logical. May I introduce you to the wonderful world of scientology?

Game Attendance Lowest So Far Tonight

I know the season just started, but I checked the figures ... tonight's attendance was 14,824 or so, lowest so far this year. That is not good, especially for a Friday night. I'm thinking the raft of injuries, especially to the goalies, is giving everybody a bad feeling, and nobody's buying tickets far ahead. I've only been to one game so far. Bad year for prices of EVERYTHING to go up!

Canes to Quebec. E5.

Seriously though it's a fair point. Losing eventually costs you fans and their hard earned cash. Why pay to sit up top when you can watch hi def at home with a six pack you bought for the cost of one arena beer? Eventually you would expect apathy from the natives.

As expected, there's just a very negative vibe around the team right now. It's going to take making the playoffs not just this year but the next couple after that for the fans to really buy in. After last season, and the close calls over the past few years, there's absolutely no reason this shouldn't be expected.

Hell, as I said earlier, even that 09 Conference Finals team was a very mediocre team that was just lucky enough to get hot at the right time.

It's going to take a legitimate turnaround, and without guys like Ward, Qudoba, or Skinner in the lineup there's no reason to expect any kind of result right now. It's **** but it is what it is until proven otherwise.

Did you go to the game, perchance?

No, I did not ... because I was disappointed so many times last season. It's sad that the fan base has nothing to be excited, therefore many are not attending the games. I don't like to spend a bundle of money, then walk out disappointed. The NHL is a business, and 'Canes fans need a better product!

Good for you for making such sensible financial decisions for yourself.

I will continue to support the team, through good times and bad. I believe that's what fans are supposed to do. Your mileage may vary.

Good for you, hank! J.R. will LOVE you for that philosophy! He never has to improve the team as long as people will go watch them, no matter what.

It's your right not to spend money on the team you purport to support, as a way of protesting the team's play. Your absolute right. But be careful climbing off of that bandwagon, because one day you may find that you can't get back on it again. Ask our friends from Atlanta.

Going to a game should be an enjoyable experience. If the team you root for is nothing but mediocre for years and is not even that entertaining to watch, why bother spending your hard earned money on an inferiour product?

When the Blackhawks sucked, no one went to games.

Same for the Pens, who almost moved it was that bad.

Their isn't enough fans in the world to support a bad team for too long, that is why there has to be some hope, a carrot given to the fans that will make them believe even in those not so good years. Frankly, the only thing I got from this year so far is Murphy.
