Again, we have exactly 1 goal from our forwards, and it came tonight when it was almost way too late to do anything with it.

It doesn't matter if the goals Ned lets in are soft or not. If he doesn't get any goal support, it's all for naught anyway.

Here's a novel idea they should try: SCORE THE FIRST ****ING GOAL. Do that and the rest of the game becomes a HELL of a lot easier

scoring the first goal would be a nice change of pace

Who you calling folks, bro?

I prefer folx, and I will not stand for your intolerance.

But seriously, I and many other posters can't read your mind. I just thought your original post was another slight on Ned when his greatest sin is slightly getting outplayed by a Vezina caliber goalie and getting zero goal support from the team in front of him.

Its time to give Mrazek or Reimer a shot. I am not putting the blame on Ned, he has done great this season and postseason. But when Mrazek (and especially Reimer for some reason) is in net the Canes provide way more run support. Otherwise I sense a sweep may happen if Ned stays in for the rest of the series

What's our record when trailing 0:2 in the playoffs? Great season but I can't see beating theam without Nino and Tro. Next season :(.

I’m sorry, did I just read that someone rates Mrázek/Reimer as elite playoff goalies?

Really?

Yes. I cannot speak for Mrazek but I watched Reimer go head to head with Tuuka Rask and outplay him in the PLAYOFFS as he singlehandedly stole games 5 and 6 for the leafs back in 2013-2014.

He deserves another chance. Say what you want about his regular season performance, but the playoffs, as you all know, are a different beast. Give this man another chance and he will shut the door on the Lightning (he has a great history of playing very well against them) and eventually defeat the Bruins (if they advance).

I really hope our fans aren't fighting one another or other teams fans.

I'm not kidding, that shit is one of the reasons I haven't been to a Panthers game in years. Way too many drunken douchebag know-nothings ruin the fun.
I'm telling you it was bad.

I'm talking less than 2 mins to go, down 2, and they are ruthlessly booing people who have seen enough and are heading for the exits. And I'm talking about people who clearly have mobility issues needing extra time to get up the stairs, and they're calling them fake fan motherf***ers.

Mind you, this is in STM sections and those who left I saw almost nightly in our seats while the ones who were starting everything I had never seen before.

Had Svech not scored to interrupt things, there would have been a fistfight. Things were escalating quickly.

Let’s be really clear here that when we’re saying the goaltending lost us these games, we’re saying we should have won games in which we scored 1 goal.

Well, I certainly agree that goal tending should not be singled out, BUT Tampa is winning these games by 1 goal. Ned needs to be better or our forwards do (both in an ideal world), but I'd prefer the latter. I think Ned has been good enough to give them that opportunity.

This team took its foot off the gas going down the stretch and then stalled the car.
So few easy wins, too. Before the season ended, Mike Johnson talked about the number of close games and comeback wins the Canes had during their season. While it can build confidence, he spoke about how exhausting that style of play can be and how having that kind of season wears you out under normal circumstances much less one with a compressed schedule. He mentioned then how they may pay the price at playoff time. Add on the myriad of injuries they've had to compensate for..kinda looks like the tank may be running low, physically and emotionally.

That’s what I’m getting at. Winning while scoring 1 goal is not a game plan. When a goalie holds the opponent to 2 goals, you have a chance to win if you’re doing the other stuff right. If not, then it didn’t matter at all what the goalie did.

That’s before we get into the fact that there’s nothing wrong with the way Ned’s playing. Expecting him to go out there and be literally perfect against any opponent, let alone Tampa in a playoff game, is madness.

Right. So far Vasi is holding us to 1 and Ned is holding them to 2. Something has to give. Tampa is content with this. As was mentioned they'll coast right to a 4 game sweep and avoid a rough, and tumble finish. The Hurricanes have to force the issue, and be much harder to play against if this is gonna turn into a series. Hopefully that will lead to more chances and more puck luck.

Vasy has no more horseshoes.

Canes in 6.

Hear me now quote me later.
I will be happy even if we take this in game 7. I just don't see it. Our offense has been meh so far. Just doesn't seem like our year.

Neither of tonight's goals were remotely soft.
Thi grider stuff doesnt wk all the time. I think the Main difference between Both teams Was skill. When they had the puck they played it even when they were under pressure, they had the skill and the confidence to Look for the FREE player. Our fowards Do that very rarely. When they have the puck in the neutral zone they shoot it in the offensive zone and try to get the puck in most cases without success. But i mean it's the way We play. Unfortunately for us they are a very skilled Team which can cope with Our System easily.

Maybe we should accept the fact that we are not ready to win the Cup, especially with Dougie/Svech/Tro being so so in last few weeks. We are still young though. Ned is okay. He's not the reason we can't score against Hedman and co.
