How about a let's wait and see approach? Petterson was about to become a generational #1 elite centerman. Now look where he's at now. I guess in today's world it's not cool to just wait and be patient.

You run them as Lindy ran the Vanek line his rookie year. You give them heavy O-zone starts against 3d/4th liners so they can out skill them, and PP time. They'll get 10-12ES min per night and are in position to slot higher in lineup. Also Quinn and Krebs can also easily play PK
I think KA is going to be stubborn and keep on the farm accept for a injury fill in look see. Unless Quinn is 2ppg by Jan. or Peterka has 20G. Seems Krebs is in the right place for now. Maybe when Tuch is ready he gets a look up, they had good chemistry together in limited time in LV

I'm talking about next year. This year they stay in Rochester unless there's a slew of injuries or UFAs get jettisoned. The only prospects I realistically expect to see are Johnson and Power when they're signed to burn a year of their ELC as signing enticement

10-4
Samuelsson should be up soon too either for injury or after a trade/waiver, etc.

Tage's sudden improvement from a year and a half ago to now is like Josh Allen's second season to his third. I'm not saying Tage is an MVP candidate like Josh but the massive sudden leap forward after many (including me) had written him off is similar.

If you wanna use the Allen comparison further, Tage has just about every tool in the box just has to put it together. His skating is strong, his hands and shot are sick and obviously he has the size. Granato said last night even that he’s doing well but he’s not even scratching the surface of what he’s capable of

Good point about the raw tools they both have.

In a couple more years when Tage is done filling out he'll become the first NHL player whose shot breaks the sound barrier. He'll be a scoring threat from anywhere on the ice. The Sabres will have set plays for Tage to take one timers from his own blue line.

The last few pages of this thread are a great example of why I am enjoying this year's team and this season despite whatever record they will end up with or how bad the goal keeping might be. The change in the perception of Tage's play and potential has been as remarkable as his actual improvement in play on the ice since he was moved to center. There are other nice examples of encouraging player development on the team as well - Asplund, Cozens, Dahlin, Bryson, Jokiharju, Olofsson, and the preseason Mitts. With veterans like Zemgus, Okposo and Pysyk contributing - this has been a fun team to watch. The future bodes well with the additions of Tuch, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, and Power and who know who else.

Starting to have fun and hope again

And like Josh, it's reasonable to remain skeptical that he can maintain the level of play consistently.

I know that was tongue-in-cheek, but how awesome would it be if this trade ends up being fair value for us in the long run because Tage hits his potential?

Not to revive the ROR thread, because I wish we didn't trade him (he'd be perfect as the C for this group). But if Thompson becomes a top 6 center and Johnson contributes in the NHL, we'll look at that trade differently.

Same, I love following all our great prospects each night and the improvement in our young NHL guys. This is the most exciting season since 2015-2016 when Eichel/ROR joined the team.
