2x his career Shooting% isn't sustainable?

I am more worried about what this team looks like when some of the unsustainable Corsi & Fenwick numbers normalize.

The bolded is simultaneously missing the point and a terrible use of shooting% for an arguement.

1) Who is talking about goals? Posters are pleasantly surprised that Tage has played well overall at center for three straight games. They’re having fun, joking about it and enjoying the moment. How dare they! Your shooting% comment is pretty much missing the point.

2) Your poor shooting% argument. Tage has (1) PP goal and (1) 5v5 goal. The sample size is ridiculously small so his shooting% in both circumstances doesn’t tell us anything. But 5v5 and PP sh% should never be lumped together to tell the story. They are completely different animals.

We are in uncharted territory with Tage. He is likely to be our top center (minutes played) until Mitts gets back and will be getting a ton of PP minutes. Two things he’s never done before How that plays out is anyone’s guess.

I was joking in response to a post about his Shooting% being unsustainable.

But you do you...

My point was that I am more worried about the long term sustainability of the really amazing Corsi and Fenwick numbers we have seen through three games.

In fairness, you’ve made the unsustainable shooting % argument enough in recent years for me to assume you were being serious. But if that wasn’t your intent, my bad. Apologies.

Why worry about it? Just enjoy the good when it happens. I assume you’re expecting it to crater.

Why can't both things happen at the same time?

Most Sabres fans had that balance during the long win streak a few years ago where we loved the heater and knew it wouldn't last.

He looks worlds more confident so far this year. As someone who wrote him off as AHL caliber I am super happy for the guy so far

Perhaps all the talk that the staff is telling them to go play, to not worry about (and be punished for) mistakes has taken a concern out of Tage's head and just allowed him to play.

They can and I didn’t say otherwise. I said why bother worrying. You seem to be looking for a rain cloud on a sunny day. All I’m saying is just enjoy the sunny day. Nothing in that says you can’t still be a rain cloud hunter if you want to be.

Also, the move to center may have been beneficial, which is baffling to me- but I'm more than happy to eat crow on my initial thoughts when I saw Tage would be playing center.

It’s almost as if Granato moving him to center has forced him to playing more direct and central. He’s using that big body of his effectively, along with that touch of skill he has. That perimeter player is being coached out of him and that to me is his best path to success.

I've never felt happier to be wrong. It just seemed like he didn't think the game at a high level but sometimes IQ comes with experience and comfort level... Should've known this may had been the case but was biased by the venom that was the ROR trade.

I could imagine Thompson having some success in the NHL but not in this way and not like the kind of player he is today.
Some of the old flaws are present but he's added so much other stuff to his game.

If Thompson got angry at a news article, would it Tage's Page Rage?

If it he was in a zoo, would it be Tage's Page Rage In a Cage?

If he this was after a yoga class , would it be Sage Tage's Page Rage in a Cage

If he was older when all of this happened, would it be Old Age Sage Tage's Page Rage in a Cage?

Its crazy but with the blooming of Tage does Mittsy go to wing, this year or next?

Mitts - Tage - Tuch
Asplund - Cozens - Olofsson
Quinn - Angry Larry - Peterka
Girgensons - Krebs - Olofsson
Skinner
