So was he just disinterested at wing? Maybe his skillset is better suited for Meatball Madness
I think it's a combination of how he was being coached, increased ice time, and the switch to center. He was looking like a perimeter player who had inconsistent effort. The whole team prior to Granato were allowed to be passengers. Now he's 100% effort every shift, and is required to be engaged at both ends of the rink.

I still think it is wait and see on this roster's effectiveness against some of the better NHL teams. Right now, they beat two teams that are developing or are in a bit of disarray. I would say the baseline talent of average teams in the NHL will be a challenge for them, and the real cream of the crop will exposed their inexperience, their borderline AHL talent in the lineup, and their average overall goal-tending.

Concur. Hopeful but realistic. We will certainly get a clearer view on coach Granato as the season progresses.

I remember being confused with the switch from ninja to hero and arguing with my brother.

Still prefer this one:

At the time, the UK was called Hero Turtles because Ninja Turtles was deemed “too violent”. Then they said “no that’s stupid” after awhile and used the proper name. And they were right, because now the UK is a combat land where you constantly fight off people with swords and nunchucks when you go to pick up a pizza*

Tage played center throughout his development years including college. I love Tage in front of the net. I know he has a nice shot, but I’d love to see him in front of the net on the power play. He needs to screen the goalie better and become a nuisance. His long reach can really cause problems for the opposing team. He can get a lot of cheap goals.

when people are talking about his improved play and how he looks at center, they aren’t talking about his goals. I don’t think anyone thinks he is a 60-goal scorer.

how do you think he has looked at center so far? Ignoring the stats.

He's still has "fancy play" syndrome where he looks for low % plays instead of keeping it simple. Not as much as previously, still there though. It hasn't bit him as hard as it did last year (yet). He looks better than last year....he's also getting incredibly sheltered zone starts (70%+). His FO% has been better than I would think, but its still a small sample

No way. I want that shot from the shooting zone. I wish Tage got more shots on PP and Oloffson less.
