We’re so used to dogshit goaltending that we think every golden opportunity is supposed to be a goal. Good goalies stop those usually, which doesn’t happen to us often.

Nah this team has been pretty inept at finishing in December, it'll turn but there's nothing wrong with expecting the chances they're getting to not be goals.

Before the Mac stinker (goal 2), they were pushing play in the 2nd, had the Nico 2 on 1, the Crossbar, and the bratt shot which stopped on the goal line. Team was firing, then the momentum completely changed on that horrid rebound from Mac. Cmon man, then a big save couldn’t be made on their good player like how Ullmark stopped our best shot that period, on Bratt. (Mac was also off his angle on #3), but idc bout that one. That second one was beer league and sunk them.

i mean yeah i’m saying he didn’t have a good period either. but we were defensively porous- i don’t know what’s happened with siegs, but he’s been playing terribly. severson has always been prone to dumbass plays. we’re missing some key defensemen…blackwood isn’t good enough to win under those conditions.

don’t get me wrong- blackwood earned that net and then shit the bed. it seems his sparkling performances are the outlier. having said that, taking the context into account, we didn’t make it easier on him.

but what do we do? he has no value, so we just waive him? maybe addition by subtraction?

Ridiculous. You always put out the third line before the big monster 6 v 5 shift, so they rest the top 6.

Also, waiting to pull VV until Yegor had control behind the net was perfect. How many damn times do we see a quick ENG against?

Oh don’t get me wrong, they haven’t finished as they should, but it’s not otherworldly bad. Our goalies just seldom make those high danger saves lately, frustrating when you see opposing teams get those saves.

We’re 8 points up on a playoff spot going into the new year. No one expected this. Team is still out skating every opponent they play against. They’re shooting like an unsustainable 6% over this losing streak. Eye test and advanced stats test prove this. They haven’t rolled over. They have the best up and coming center in the league. Calm the f*** down and enjoy the holidays folks.

It'll only be 6 points I think after tonight.

But we do have a game in hand on the Islanders

4 points ahead of Washington (who never lose anymore and have a soft ass schedule for the next week or two), but we have 2 games in hand on them.

They went through a dry spell but now have 7 goals in the last two games. They scored enough to win both games. The scrub goalie who shouldn’t even be in the nhl anymore is the reason they didn’t.

Addition by Subtraction. Its just time to move on. It’s literally best for both parties.

I did laugh when they pulled Vitek and then both Severson and I think Hamilton basically got in Jack's way as he was trying to weave through the neutral zone.

I'm on the side of that.

But we don't deserve to win when we're really expecting Blackwood to come in there and help WIN games.

His last 65 games are WRETCHED.

His last 61 or 62 games (when the implosion really started) must be like .889% or .888% right now.

I don't know how many more starts like this we need to see before we do what we did with Schneider in 2019 and just waive him.

I'm sure the Florida game bought him at least one more game.
