He was playing so far back and gave Pasta way too much time and space.

Goalies make huge saves all the time. Blackwood did it just the other night in Florida. The goaltending magic we had earlier this season has disappeared. But they need to bury more of their chances again. The Tatar one is inexcusable.

Not Blackwoods fault we can't score. This team had multiple chances and can't bury anything. That is the number 1 reason we have been losing. It sucks that our defense is banged up but still it doesn't look as good as it did the first 20ish games.

Blackwood could of had thar 2nd or 4th goal. We literally should of went up 2 to 1 but Boston makes is 2 to 1 in their favor. Big momentum swing right there. Team can't bury goals enough latley and the goaltending has been subpar. Somethings gotta give.

But it is Blackwood's fault this team is so mentally fragile.

There's a huge difference in how the played earlier in the season with Vtec making saves - they were flying all game.

Confidence starts between the pipes. The team pretty much gave up after the 3rd. I would too if I knew most goalies in the league don't allow the 2nd, and even "make a save" on Pasta's 3rd.

Second period - Bruins CF% 63 - 4 goals

These stats tell you everything you need to know. We can dominate, but we cant close the games like some other top teams. We can have a 3rd period with like CF% of 80 or something and watch us score one goal. Then we can say that oh we dominated most of the game, which would be correct but we had nothing to show for it at all.

We dont even need finishers per se. We need more shoot first type of players. That alone would generate more chances, which we need a lot of.

I agree we could use another scorer, but we need the goalie to stop shots to begin with. You get in these games with top teams they are going to be lower scoring. You can’t bank on scoring 3-4 goals.

2nd goal is 100% on Blackwood. The 4th goal is not on the goaltender. You can’t give the puck away to Brad f***ing Marchand behind your net and leave a man wide open on the near post. That goal is on Bahl.

He got bear quite easily on the short side. It wasn't a soft goal but it was deff to easy of a goal given up. He had that whole chunk of net gaping.

They average like the most shots per game in the league. It’s the shooting percentage this stretch that is killing them

Mediocre ( at best ) goaltending and inability to score = us sucking .
We can generate offence , which makes things even more frustrating , but have zero finish besides Jack . Could have been 2-1 for us with ALL the momentum but instead here we are .
Oh and Blackwood has been shit . Last goal is the only one that no goalie is saving .

I don’t want to put it all on Blackwood, because we’ve given them some amazingly good looks at him. But really I want him to save a couple of those. The first Pasta goal goes right between his legs. Opening the 5 hole while moving, in fact always leaving that space open, has always been Blackwoods biggest weakness. Likewise, on Debrusk maybe he could have closed on the shooter, read the play, been square to the shot as Debrusk was very deep.

The difference in this game is largely that Ullmark is making the sort of extra tough saves that Blackwood isn’t.

That and our just missing some glorious opportunities. I also can’t take Tatar and Wood off the hook, Nico too, on some chances that at least a couple of could have been finished. Tatar is an infuriating guy to watch night in, night out.

Difference is we dint score on our chances while other team does , even with us having more chances to score . It’s sooooo frustrating

Nobody is giving him excuses, the 2nd goal is atrocious. How about not giving Pastrnak 7 seconds alone in the slot with a screen in front or not giving the puck away behind your own net with DeBrusk completely alone at the near post. That’s acceptable play from your skaters??
