Slovakia seem to have a new talented generation, with more skillful players than the previous one.

Both goalies looking really good. Don't see that very often in those tournaments.

Isn't it the same as calling Switzerland Swiss that announcers also just did before commercial brake?

It is not, "Swiss" or "French" can be used to describe a group of persons coming from that country, but with Czechs it is like with Swedes, Finns, Russians. The plural is distinctive. You say "Russians", not "Russian" if you want to describe a group of person from Russia.

Great work by Oleksij Mykluchka behind the net. He's doing his job as a centre.

I somehow trust the paid professionals who feel no hesitation to use those words that way more than some guy from Brno on a hockey forum. Weird how it is, huh?

Fast paced game. Amazes me just how good so many of these players (even on the weaker teams) really are. They sure can all skate!

Guys who are discussing what TSN dudes call the Czech team, can you take your convo elsewhere? I mean really. Not even the Czechs can decide on what to call themselves, they've even tried going with Czechia but it didn't stick. I don't blame TSN for dropping Republic in their name, it is silly. You could call Slovakia the Slovak Republic if you want.

Czechia stuck a lot in Europe lately, I hear it a lot and I use it myself too.

swiss are really weak this year getting outshot 12-4 by slovakia ouch...

I don't know if you can judge the strength or weakness of a team from the shot-count from one period. ;)
Scoring-chances probably around even for both teams, Switzerland hit the post once.

I didn't know you were some 'poster from Brno'... that's awesome. I'm from Brno too!

Really liking the Schläpfer, Marchand, Hofer line. With the exception of the last shift they had the puck essentially all the time. Official top line did create a few chances but wasn't good overall.

lol are you watching? Slovakia hasn't shot enough imho. they didn't even get a shot on their 3 on 1.

Defenseman literally made a fine play on that situation and that's literally one situation lmao.. Doubt you can come up with another one because there has not been any other

Turan's skating has been an absolute garbage. The guy looks like constantly in a slow motion.
