Over the years the only successful keepers we ever had were those that stood on their heads. This organization year in year out fails miserably at team defense. Look no further than Carolina with James Reimer .907 Save% with a 13-4 record. Is he any better than Andersen?
Reimer would likely be the odd man out when Mrazek gets back from injury and due to the emergence of Nedeljkovic... but his .907 is certainly better than an .897.

The Leafs have given up the fewest shots against within the division and have given up the second fewest goals against within the division. Defensive breakdowns do happen, but Andersen has let those breakdowns turn into goals against more often than not since March 2019.

The team has improved, Andersen has not. I don’t know how many times this needs to be said.

you think they will make healthy Andersen sit, I dunno about that, I dont think Freddy would like that ... huge risk by Dubas

you play and ride the goalie winning games for you.

andersen is owed nothing by the Leafs. He’s a UFA, unlikely to return, and we are playing to win.

Andersen will have to wait for Campbell to falter. It’s Campbell’s ball to carry for now.

I was so tired of hearing how Edmontons D is so good and Smith has been unreal... sorry but all of that is false.

Leafs had a lackluster 2nd period but they outplayed them.

I'll say it again.. take away 2 players on that team... they're bottom feeders.

f*** off Edmonton.
Yeah this little run that Edmonton has been on hasn't been because they are playing better defense. The only reason their goals against is down, is because Mike Smith is playing at an unsustainable level. The guy is 39, and aside from the 1 insane year he had in Arizona, has been average to below average in his career.

.912, .906, .893, .916, .900, .899, .930*, .910, .915, .904, .916, .914, .916, .898, .902, .918 this year.

Year by year save percentage numbers.

If you guys want an amazing read. Go to the Oilers board and read pages 45-61 of their GDT. So much insulting and crapping on Matthews, Nylander and Tavares. Only to be dumped on by all three.

At what point will they wake up and smell the coffee. We crush them damn near every time.

Pretty sure if we lost every game against the oilers after tonight, we'd still have a winning record against them on the season.

Not a poor game but some poor goals. Nurse goals should have been stopped same with Barrie
But he was stellar

Nurse yes, Barrie no.

Watch the replay below at 3:16. Barrie roofed the puck over Campbell after that great play from Draisaitl behind the net.

Honestly, we can no longer wait for Anderson or worry about his feelings. He is gone after this year and is having a second straight season which can be classified as poor. Yes, he is injured, and that is affecting his play, but he's also never once shown the ability to outplay the other teams goalie in a playoff series or steal a round for us. I can only imagine what this team could do with Cujo or Belfour in net.

Unless Campbell regresses to a sub .900 save percentage, I'd say the job is his to lose.

I know it doesn't happen often, but riding the hot hand worked out well for St.Louis and Carolina in years past.

Campbell is no Binnington or Ward mind you, but St.Louis was the only team other than Toronto to take Boston to 7 games in 2019, and neither team let feelings or friendships get in the way of results.

The power play needs to be fixed and it should be the easiest thing to correct with the talent available. Really think Reilly needs to be off the top unit, nobody in the league even pretends to respect his fake slappers anymore.

Team is good. Campbell seems competitive

Brodie, is so subtle in his play, but boy, is he ever, a good dman.

The boys seem to enjoy playing for Keefe. And that's really good as well. Remember, a lot of these guys make more than a workaholic ceo, for most companies.

So a coach, really has to have a toolbox, to come into Toronto and get some of these guys, going, a bit harder than they would like.

Keefe seems to have things under control. But, only cautionary note I will give him. Get some top end diet advice. He is packing on some serious pounds.

And NHL players, tend to start not listening when their coach goes belly soft.

Larry Robinson, didn't have any prior coaching experience, but he stepped in, and had some great results.

Possibly why? He was probably in better shape than most of his team, and ten times tougher.

Get in great shape, great things happen. Get in average shape and average things happen.

Sheldon Keefe, man, he must have put on 15 to 20 recently Not good Sheldon. Ken hitchcock? Anomalous Lets not bring him up.

Binnington and Ward were pretty bad goalies other than those cup runs.

Muzzin had a terrible game tonight...McDavid gazing on Draisaitl's goal instead of covering his man, and gives the puck away on a weak backhand behind his own net leading to Barrie's goal.

Man. Reading the Oil boards it seems like we only played 10 mins of good hockey tonight, but ours says we outplayed them, time to check.

I am watching it as we speak (PVR) and we just outshot the Oil by a lot and outplayed them in the first so far.

Wtf did I just read LOL dude that’s not okay to shame the guy. I don’t care if you think your right or not but mind your own business you have no idea what he’s going through and if he has an illness that’s causing him gain weight. Focus on yourself. Respect is earned not deserved based on how you look.

I have actually never seen more insulting fans than the Canucks and Oilers. It gets pretty vicious.

But I know all our fanbases have good and bad posters, it just gets heated often.

Basically, Smith and the crossbar are what kept it from being a blowout.

It seems Oilers fans are getting hoodwinked by the impact McDavid and Draisaitl have. Just because those guys are going well doesn't mean your team played good hockey.

The other three lines were mediocre and hockey is a four-line affair.

Yea we really just need a goaltender who can generally keep it at 2-3 goals against. With our offense that should be manageable.

Campbell came up with some big timely saves tonight. Felt like one of the goals he let in was soft, but oh well.

If you are talking about first goal, then what you want goalie to do? He had to respect macdavid in prime scoring position. D overplayed inside and winger had direct walk path to the net and shut from 15 feets out when Campbell was not even set yet and could not challenge. It’s a goal 9/10 times against any goalie.

Toronto is tied for 5th in the league in wins alongside Boston & Minnesota, 4th in ROW behind Colorado, Vegas, and Tampa Bay, and are 6th in point percentage in Keefe’s 80 games as coach so far.

They just got out of their first slump under Keefe. During that slump, they dominated 2 out of the 3 Jets games and both games against Calgary.

However, you’re not winning many games with a .858 SV% week by Andersen and Hutchinson. Whatever Keefe does or doesn’t do away from the rink has no correlation here.

One of their only wins against Toronto in regulation was due to a late PP goal.

Edmonton only had said PP because Kahun tripped Yamamoto and Muzzin was in the area. So congrats to them!
