I cannot blame the Czech players. This is the result of longstanding pain of both Czech1 and Czech2 leagues. When the situation on the ice becomes critical, the coaches bench all young players with the excuse "we need experienced players there". You know, nobody learns how to handle critical situations from the bench. Games like tonight's are just a result of this cowardice typical for the Czech hockey. It is even more absurd when you consider that Czech clubs better sign average foreign players and let the Czech juniors play like 5-10 mins per game, usually when the game is already decided. This situation exists here for years, and when you ask the coaches why the don't give the juniors some chance, their answer is "the young boys need to gain some experience first". OK, makes sense.

It’s funny though Seider and Broberg were both viewed as reaches at the time but now look like potential home run picks by Yzerman and Holland. I’d take both of them over pretty much that entire USNTDP team.

Love the way those two play, Seider looks NHL ready right now. He’s a fantastic prospect, all situations #1 D upside.

Broberg did quite the 180. I wasn't all that impressed with him at last year's WJC but it seems like he's set the world on fire, since.

FWIW, my theory is still that Holland was gonna take Seider. Yzerman seemed relatively certain that Seider was gone if he didn't take him at 6, and the only way you can be certain of that is if it was the guy who was with your organization all year.
