Holtz needs to make better decisions.
He just really, really wants to score. Shouldn't force it though.

Damn Sweden has a boring anthem
TSN.. if its wrong... I have a number you can call to complainIIHF and their scoring.. Hedström wasn't even on the ice for the first goal, it was Johansson

If Swedes won gold I wouldn't be at all surprised. What's wrong with their team? Elite goalie, elite forwards and some elite D? Also, about to go 53-0.
I don't think there's a goalie prospect who could have won this game. The Swedes had some great bounces, some awesome goals and completely outplayed us for 30 minutes at least. The only way we're winning this is with the goalie posting a shutout. That's what Czech get for not inviting their best goalie to their camp because he is playing in college.
Raymond has an assist.7-1 and no points for Holtz and Raymond?
Centers. But that's pretty much as per usual. If Swedes won gold I wouldn't be at all surprised. What's wrong with their team? Elite goalie, elite forwards and some elite D? Also, about to go 53-0.
Prime Hasek would've lost this game..I don't think there's a goalie prospect who could have won this game. The Swedes had some great bounces, some awesome goals and completely outplayed us for 30 minutes at least. The only way we're winning this is with the goalie posting a shutout.
Yet that's exactly what he does. He shoots hard, but not enough to go through players. He just really, really wants to score. Shouldn't force it though.
Great job by Sweden. I feel like people think this pool is between US and Russia... I could easily see the Swede's win the pool They had rust to start and I think we went a long way in getting them into game shape. The game against Austria next should get them ready for the big 2 matches.
Czechs had 2 teams in this game.. first 30 minutes where they were looking good. Second 30 minutes where it looked like every Czech vs Sweden game in the last 18 years.
For the Czechs.. start Parik/Bednar. Raska will be well rested. See if you can play good for 40 minutes next game.
Good luck to the Swedes and going 54-0!
Turning point was the shorthanded goal where it was 2-1 and we were doing well in shots and gameplay.. it all went to hell after that. The huge save in first made a big different.
Biggest difference though is that Sweden is simply better.
Happy to see Broberg get player of the game!
Unfortunately, our best young Czechs need to leave.. nothing good comes out of Czech2.lolExactly. The 3-1 goal was the turning point. It is all about that no single player of the Czech team is used to leader the team. They can play a good game as long as it is going their way. As soon as first difficulties come, they just break down, completely abandon any system, just are randomly skating and checking opponents time to time, with no real organization in their game. This is about that they are all 3rd-4th liners in their teams, barely getting any chance on PK, amost never on PP, because "hey, we need experience on the ice". The Swedish players are much more mature primarily in terms of their mental setting. But this is nothing any psychologist or whosoever could improve. You just need to play in the situation when the game is no longer going your way, you allow an unlucky goal, take a bad penalty etc. Until the 3-1 goal, the Czech team was skating well, forechecking well, staying organized in their own zone. Immediately after the 3-1 goal, they were suddently all like "oh no, what are we doing here".
