As a Leafs fan, he was pretty impressive. Surprised he isn't given a longer look, but I haven't really paid too much attention to their training camp this season. He has skill tho, and in the right system he could definitely be a player.

Someone like Colorado or Nashville could use that kind of skill with their mix of players.

Who does he bump out of Nashville's lineup? They already have Jarnkrok playing on the fourth line when he should probably be on the third. He couldn't touch up our top 9 and isn't a better fit for our bottom line than anyone we currently have.

Seeing how the NHL is shifting towards more skilled, scoring third lines, and that he is only 23, he will be claimed without question. I find it absurd how some think that he will clear.

I can't believe the word "smurf" hasn't come up in this thread yet.

Andrighetto would look good in Buffalo.

With Roy gone things might have changed, but there have been rumours about the Avs being interested in him for a while. They have some injuries up front to start the season as well so wouldn't be surprised if he ends up there.

Avs have just sent Rantanen down for a conditioning stint, opening up a spot on the roster. They also have Mitchell who could be placed on the IR, and are icing Ben Smith, Andreas Martinsen and Gabriel Bourque on their roster, the latter whom has already cleared waivers. They also sit at 46 contracts.

I'd put good money on the Avs claiming him if someone ahead doesn't grab him.

I feel a team should grab him. Maybe the Coyotes? They don't have a lot of cap room, but adding a nice usable depth player with upside for the future.

It would be interesting to see the two Swiss Sven's on the same line!

A team with the Sedins are their first scoring line shouldn't put together two mostly perimeter scorers together to generate secondary offence. That's a recipe for disaster.

As a Buffalo fan, I agree, even if it's only until the team gets a bit healthier. Right now, two top 6 guys are out long-term (Kane, Eichel). Okposo should be back soon. There's room for a decent player in the bottom 6.

Habs had no place for him in the lineup. He was the favourite to steal a spot before training camp, but he was disappointing. Lehkonen, Carr, and Danault were all better than him, and that's why he's the odd man out. We also have Hudon in the ahl who plays a style like Ghetto and who's close to nhl ready.

Surprised we couldn't trade him for a pick, but I guess he doesn't have much value right now.
We probably wouldn't have resigned him anyway.

NHL ready, young top 9 prospect.
I'll be surprised if he clears. To many teams could use him, even if just short term.

If the Rene Bourques of this world find roster spots in the league but Ghetto doesn't, something's very wrong.

I thought he was the next best thing from what I heard from habs fans.

what happened?

There was no mass bandwagon that claimed Sven was going to be a star. Most, myself included, thought he had what it took to be a good complimentary player. I still think he can be a 15g/15a guy somewhere in the NHL.
