You mean from a couple of habs fans. While the vast majority didnt think he was the next big thing. Why focus on those couple?

It was more than a couple. a LOT of Habs fans over hyped this guy.

Every fanbase does it though. Nothing against Habs fans specifically.

he still has top 6 potential, very smart and talented player :(

He is. This is a move I just cannot understand.

Played at a nigh 15 goals pace last season in a very limited role as a rookie.

He's a good skater, good at handling the puck, and he has a very solid wrister. Lots of offensive tools to work with.

He's not tall, but he has a fairly thick frame. Size isn't much of a concern in his case, in my opinion.

He went PPG at the 2016 WC in 7 games... With some more ice-time, I feel like he could really establish himself in the NHL at some point down the line.

Even if he doesn't develop into a top 6 player, he's worth trying. Especially for free from the waivers.

Bergevin really could've been more patient with him.

Wow. I know each of those three were injured, but didn't put it together that all three were injured.
That sucks for Buffalo!

It's kind of expected with Okposo and Kane. Eichel is the only one that I'd say really hurts; the other two just come with the territory of having those two guys on your team.

This guy clears. He's not very good and not NHL quality. Funny it was as recent as last week I was reading on here from habs fans that he was worth a minimum 3rd round pick. "You can get this potential at NHL ready for less" I believe was the rationale on it.

Lol have you seen him play? He's good, still very young and probably ends up a low end 2nd liner or 3rd liner. He has some speed, and can put the puck in the net. Lehkonen and Carr just had better camps and we don't have room, however I don't understand this move by MB. Maybe he's hoping he clears but I would of put flynn or DD before him

20 points in only 56 games played in the nhl is pretty decent

Surely he gets picked up, young asset with potential still in the tank. I don't see any reason why the Habs do this, Hudon or McCarron shouldn't be in the top nine.

they're not.

Carr and Lekhonen are (they're much better). And yes McCarron should be in the top 9.

That's the thing.
None of them are... AND arguably bring more at this point.

At one point Andrighetto was a decent prospect, but let's not forget that this is all based on projections of their current play. He didn't progress. He didn't do much with a golden opportunity last year due to injuries. And he certainly didn't do enough with his camp this year with a top-6 position in order.

Look at Lehkonen. Two years younger and developed in leaps and bounds. Andrighetto just got passed.

So it need not be a pissing match with people claiming "Hab fans" (as though we all share one brain) over-rated him. Many thought he was going to be decent and he didn't get there. Happens all the time. To all fan bases.

I think Buffalo should grab him. It would suck as a Habs fan to lose him for nothing but Ghetto would get minutes he needs to prove himself and Buffalo is hurting big time up front. It makes sense.....so it probably wont happen.

And the over hyping continues even in his waiver thread. You Habs fans never cease to amaze me with the over hyping of a poor project who isn't gonna break out in the NHL as a scorer in any real form.

Ok I've come to the conclusion I can't have a normal conversation with you. Good day

20 points in 56 games in the NHL is not NHL material

As a Leafs fan, he was pretty impressive. Surprised he isn't given a longer look, but I haven't really paid too much attention to their training camp this season. He has skill tho, and in the right system he could definitely be a player.

Someone like Colorado or Nashville could use that kind of skill with their mix of players.

I never saw Andrighetto having much of a future with the Habs but I figured they'd keep him around for depth in case of injuries and to keep the pressure on Carr and Lehkonen (who both played fantastic games in Buffalo last night, BTW). I guess they want to make McCarron's move to the NHL come along a little quicker.
