Not sure what big club you see him playing for. Looks like he had a reasonable amount of minutes (thought not sure if they were in succession). I think he‘d do better at a smaller team, where he would obviously play more. Also, the discussion last Summer was I believe about him deserving to play for Barca ahead of Pedri.
Obviously the Pedri discussion was hilarious but no surprise given the source.
However, under the right guidance of a coach who works with him (on a smaller team) I could see Konrad developing into a dangerous player.
Lots of ifs though and we've seen better talents never make it.

Are you talking to me? I thought you said this wasn’t a victory lap.

I believe I said that Pedri is not a good player and gets free minutes without having to influence goals, which is his job description. I stand by what I’ve said that Pedri is not a good player yet. He has age on his side to improve, but probably should be loaned out somewhere. He makes Barcelona worse.

As for Konrad, I don’t know that I said he’s better than Pedri. If I said it, I’d like to see it. I believe what I said was that they had other attackers, like Trincao, Konrad, and they had another kid whose name I forget whose since been sold that should’ve been getting some of Pedri’s minutes.

He was very inconsistent last season with Marseille. I’m not sure how much you watched, but he started off very well the first few months, then had a bad few months, and then ended the last few months of the season injured. It was his first full season as a first team player and he’s not some world class youngster. I don’t think anyone is under any illusion that he won’t have some ups and downs. He still has a lot of improvement needed.

I think there were some rumors that Sampaoli was unhappy with him, but I don’t know how much stock I put into those. The amount he was playing him the first half of the season you don’t play a young kid you are unhappy with. I think he’ll probably stay put, and these rumors are the usual Barcelona rumor wheel that spits out another story without much to it.

No, I’m not talking to you, but I appreciate your post. And I hear you about Pedri. Kid is the shits.

Well I was very specific about “big club”. I think a move to a smaller side would do him well. Still I’m not sure he’s good enough to break into a big club, but the definition of big club is open for debate.

LFC definitely have extra money from no Tchouameni, but hard to believe that if this is true (big if) that this isn’t take it or leave it offer to Benfica

Yes big club but I don't think you specified the timeline.
I did talk about potential so not right now.

Ever really. I can’t see him at a big club, IE Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Liverpool.

He has some potential and I don’t think he’s a bad player, but I also don’t see him as a guy who plays for a big club. At least not as a starter.

Schrodingers Transfer

I for one welcome putting two sources head to head and seeing who is full of bologna later

Well I suspect after your travels the only one full of bologna is you!

They served hot dogs for breakfast At every hotel I went to in Italy. The hotel breakfasts felt very….American. Continental Breakfast is the universal I guess. But yeah. Yesterday was our last day. We go to the airport in an hour.

Yes but also every day in Paris, we stopped at cafe, went to market, came back with a baguette, fresh fruit, butter and snacked on that the rest of the day. Will remember that routine as the best part of being in Paris. In the most fond way.

Not an "I got ya", but I remember some discussion about him last Summer. I just don't think the kid is good enough for a big club right now if ever.

Not sure if you're negative here, but he was fine when he played. Trust me, I have zero care for anything American in football and he wasn't bad by any means, just really average. Don't think he goes any higher than what he is now, a middle-of-the-tier type of player.

The worst part of French food is the crazy amount of cheese, disgusting and overrated. Cheese in general is overrated, who wants to eat spoiled milk?

They also made the CL final so they should have a ton of money. IMO the latter tweet is true.

Maybe, but if (for example) Utd want to offer like 95m, I don’t see LFC upping their offer either. From what we’ve seen from FSG, they won’t care if a situation like PSG driving up the Tchouameni price occurs. They will tell Benfica to take their bid or kick rocks.

I do also believe that Record were the Portuguese paper saying Liverpool were buying Diaz. I could be wrong though.

That's also 100 million Euros nobody is going to offer more than that.

The article also says he wants to play for Liverpool and not some other team, that Klopp's public comments about him were flattering and encouraged him.

Eh maybe. I don’t believe all that fluffy stuff really matters. I think Darwin probably wants to play UCL though and that certainly could matter.

All the Liverpool journalists just picked up the story. It’s real. Willing to pay 100m

I would do it without a second thought but of course this is not up to me. There won’t be a better 9 available for years.

At the moment, LFC also probably selling Minamino for 15-20m and trying to bring in Scottish young player of the year Calvin Ramsay in for backup RB for 4m. They will net at least 10m from a Neco Williams sale. Phillips and Chamberlain available as well. Next season may look like:

Diaz - Darwin - Salah
Thiago - Fabinho - Keita
Andy - Virgil - Konate - Trent
Alisson

Diogo - Firmino - Carvalho
Jones/Milner - Henderson - Elliott
Tsimikas - Matip - Gomez - Ramsay
Kelleher

those are two very solid groups. Would still like another midfielder to close games out (Sangare? Kone?) but there were hints last season that they are grooming Jones for that role. if they add another midfielder might be worth loaning Jones and/or Elliott out for a season; but also happy for them to stay

Tchouameni breakdown :
116M transfer fee
20M bonus, including 10M supposedly easy to get
19% of that is to be given to the spanish government because there's no tax in Monaco
