I'm surprised he is not going to get a run in the team. CB is a soft spot in the roster and the brutal 7 game run of form came mainly because of a lack of available players in the position. Ostigard has been solid across his last two loan spells, thought he would get more of a chance under Potter.
He didn't want to be a back-up, sitting on the bench, and maybe play 5 PL games, + some minutes as a substitute. He wanted to go on a loan to a club where he can play most of the games and continue to develop.

Potter couldn't guarantee him enough games, so he chose to go on a loan instead.

He also told that for now he prefers to play in Italian Serie A. The italian league is not the best league, but it is the best tactical league, and they are best in the world at devoloping centre backs.

I still think we will see upwards of 10 changes to Chelsea’s squad.

Kepa, Rudiger, Christensen, Azpi, Sarr, Alonso, Saul, Barkley, RLC, Kenedy, Lukaku and one of Ziyech/Pulisic/CHO/Werner all out.

Kind of a weird tweet because they LFC model and the City model are completely different

They are but the managers having significant say in the ins/outs and limiting total transfers is probably what the dumb matt law is referring to

Tuchel might have some problems with that system.
Who is he going to blame when things don't work out? Usually, he can lash out on the fact he didn't get the players he wanted, or not when he wanted and it's too short with 35 pro players on his roster in case of injury.

Damn.

Matt law is dumb and no one likes him
I feel like he used to be okay and then his bosses told him he want getting enough engagements and now he is shite. Similar to James Pearce. That’s Athletic UK though. They haven’t realized the reason USA likes the Athletic is because there isn’t as much engagement farming.

Klopp doesn't even have that much control in our supposed system btw. He was told no about numerous German players who wound up not being that good and they just moved on and signed someone far better.

He makes it sound like his only role in transfers is to make sure they fit the group and won't bring in a bad vibe.

The only Chelsea guy I like is Simon Philips

Betis is perfect. He can go there and sit on the bench next to Lainez. In all seriousness. He has a ways to go and may never get there. Should go to a place where he will play week in and week out. Don’t think Betis is that.

Not an "I got ya", but I remember some discussion about him last Summer. I just don't think the kid is good enough for a big club right now if ever.

I kinda disagree.
He has plenty of talent but seems petrified when he has to assist or score. That can be worked on.
Now he needs a coach who will be patient with him. And he needs some playing time. Both thing Sampaoli couldn't bring.

Not sure what big club you see him playing for. Looks like he had a reasonable amount of minutes (thought not sure if they were in succession). I think he‘d do better at a smaller team, where he would obviously play more. Also, the discussion last Summer was I believe about him deserving to play for Barca ahead of Pedri.

Are you talking to me? I thought you said this wasn’t a victory lap.

I believe I said that Pedri is not a good player and gets free minutes without having to influence goals, which is his job description. I stand by what I’ve said that Pedri is not a good player yet. He has age on his side to improve, but probably should be loaned out somewhere. He makes Barcelona worse.

As for Konrad, I don’t know that I said he’s better than Pedri. If I said it, I’d like to see it. I believe what I said was that they had other attackers, like Trincao, Konrad, and they had another kid whose name I forget whose since been sold that should’ve been getting some of Pedri’s minutes.

He was very inconsistent last season with Marseille. I’m not sure how much you watched, but he started off very well the first few months, then had a bad few months, and then ended the last few months of the season injured. It was his first full season as a first team player and he’s not some world class youngster. I don’t think anyone is under any illusion that he won’t have some ups and downs. He still has a lot of improvement needed.

I think there were some rumors that Sampaoli was unhappy with him, but I don’t know how much stock I put into those. The amount he was playing him the first half of the season you don’t play a young kid you are unhappy with. I think he’ll probably stay put, and these rumors are the usual Barcelona rumor wheel that spits out another story without much to it.
