Uhh... I'm more concerned about Murray missing a season because of development, but I'm not concerned about all this "game shape" stuff you are talking about beyond the concern of every young kid.

I don't know how much he can push that shoulder, but I'm pretty sure cardio and lower body aren't much of an issue.

I have less concerns about Murray than I do about Prout. He played very well last year and there is probably no reason to think he shouldn't do just as well this year. But it just seems there is that sophomore thing that seems to jump up and bite so many.

(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $65,727,976; BONUSES: $4,682,500
CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $3,254,524

Prouter as the 7th d man? Did you watch the blue jackets last year? He is top 4.

Also, Stalberg? Please. Yes he had good games against the jackets. Other than that he was a marginal player at best. He was scratched in the playoffs for brandon bollig and now you want him in our top 6?!

He gets an underserving bad rap. He came around a lot his last year in Columbus and as soon as he did he was gone. Theres a guy on this team that gives everyone tons of frustration and you know him quite well but he's here. Zherdev was 22 his last season in Columbus and he had a better season at 22 then Nash did he was supposed to do more on a terrible terrible team i guess . Yeah the dude had some issues but a teenager signing million dollar contracts can take it that way, he was maturing. Much like Voracek i wish the team would have been a bit more patient and let the kids mature. Both worked out for us in it's own way but still... Way things go, i just really do wish he was still in the NHL, guy is good enough for sure

I like you. Zherdev on a line w anisimov would be sick, not to mention we'd never lose another shootout

Yes I saw Prout this year, he was very solid. But numbers game. He, Murray, and Erixon can swap duty.

Stalberg is a great player but odd man out in crowded Hawks top 6. Can explode if give opportunity.

I want us to stick with the guys we know, like Comeau and Prospal. The chemistry is good, and these guys are fighting for each other.

The only exception is guys who really can significantly up our scoring. Brunner and Ryder are both potential improvements. I'm even more interested in a guy like Lecavalier, and I'd offer something like 2 years $12 million to get him.

Stick with what we know? What we know is missing the playoffs. Comeau was awful at everything but taking bad penalties

stalberg is not a "great player" he was servicable, but most of his goals came vs us...and he didn't show up when he needed to...not a player I want to overpay for...brunner may be a cheaper option...

Why do we have to be "cheap?" Plenty of cap space. Would rather overpay for clarkson than go the "serviceable" route

I'm not an advocate of keeping Comeau, but at the same time, this is perhaps the worst evaluation of a player that I've ever read on HF. Ever.

9 games, 2G 3A (all EV) +5 and 6 PIMS with a ~11:00 TOI average. I remember far more good about his play than bad.

Don't get all this Zherdev love. He was just dropped by his KHL team and is now out of hockey.

Yes, who needs skill and goalscoring when you can have "jam" and "sandpaper"... I never unsderstand this attitude from cbj fans. Must be the porty influence

dude he's an enigmatic headcase that was just canned by his KHL team b/c he can't hack it...

Do I really need to show you how easily this can be turned around? Or reiterate what the two posters above me have said about Z? And feel free to read my entire post, where I agreed with someone who said they weren't big on Comeau's return. Yet still I prefer him to Z.

If you think I prefer "sandpaper" to "skill" you haven't been paying attention. (Of course, you advocate the return of Z, so maybe you haven't.)

If I remember correctly, under the new CBA, teams can begin talking with UFA's tomorrow. Who do we think the Jackets will be in contact with? I tweeted the same thing to Portzline, we'll see if he responds.

I would still prefer a trade over free agency, but I'm for however they improve this club.

Josh Rimer tweets that the price tag for Lecavalier is 5 years, 25M. It makes sense for the Jackets to be out of that race. The term is too long. The dollars would not be the problem there.
