Much like Ken MacKenzie we're letting Papineau stick around a year too long and setting the organization back. I'd love for him to prove me wrong in the next 48 hours though.

The wolves need two D. If they can pull off Marelli & Mews; do it.
Just to lose to Barrie/Oshawa in the second round? Not sure I see the vision, they're the 3rd lowest scoring team in the east. Despite taking the most penalties I don't think they can match the physicality of Oshawa or Barrie either.

Based on trades I would assume you would need to add in a lot more to get Marelli and Mews, no?

Regardless, who plays/does not tonight will be telling. They won't want to risk an injury to someone they're actually in trade talks about moving.

Marelli, Mews, Villeneuve, Walton, Pharrand, Coughlan, …will return for another season after this

Kind of worried about how good Blonda would look in a 67s jersey if true

personally don’t think blonda makes sense for Ottawa they already have esk(big name) who is a great young offensive d man, late birthday, pretty much the exact thing as blonda. I think Chitaroni with Henderson/jackson and picks would make FAR more sense

We will see about mews though. Sudbury or whoever would likely have to overpay to pull him out of Boyd’s hands.

Not sure I see the vision

What core are the Wolves planning to build around? The 06's, 07's, 08's or the upcoming 09's? Legit question, I'm not seeing any vision tbh. You see a team like North Bay, they have a clear vision.

I'm not even sure Papineau sees a vision for what to do. I guess we'll see what happens leading up to Friday.

If Wolves don't make it out of the 2nd round this year, I think Papineau will be replaced with a new GM and the team can start over to build something. They hired a great coach in Barney, but now it's time to find a new GM that has a vision/plan and can lead Sudbury to contender status. It's been too long, and I know for fact Dario is growing impatient. He wants $$$, and that comes with building a legit winner and playoff success, something Papineau has struggled to do.

Would seem like a try to extend the window to next year with having Mews, Villy, Walton, Pharand, Coughlan and if Marrelli is part of the package as well.

Eweles, Mews, Marelli, Blonda/Jackson with Smith and Wreggitt could look like a good top 6 to start. Also depending on who we get in 1st round.

I think Paps is just winging it. If there was a vision it would have been to sell from day 1 of the season.

I assumed the plan was to build around the 08s and 07s giving Barney a few seasons to develop players under his watch rather than have players who've had their development wasted by Ken MacKenzie and company.

Blonda, Chitaroni and Henderson are all in tonight's line up...

Lines for tonight

Walton- Delic - Pharand
Molnar - Chitaroni - Coughlan
Henderson - Dean - Di Giantomaso
Booth - Kohan - Street

DeAngelis - McCoy
Jackson - Ewles
O'Dell - Blonda

Krawchuk with the start

Clayton is out is he worth anything? He’s a late birthday 07 with 10pts
He's by the far best Penalty Killer I have ever seen to play for the Wolves, same with Hendersen.

He is a good shutdown guy very responsible on both ends, I think numbers will go up in second half of the season. He is currently hurt hopefully back soon, Wolves do miss him in on special teams.

He may not have the numbers but an important player for the Wolves being a first year player in the OHL.
