Greig with quite the motor
Big Pking from him and no stupid momentum killer penalty

Never liked cozens. Been through this. How do you even know how Cozens plays? I can't imagine you have much free time around coming up with reasons why every player who has ever played for the Sens is trash
Yeah he was pretty good last.Greig with quite the motor

Greig has been good the last few games. Amadio had a very good game as well. Jensen was solid.Greig with quite the motor

Crazy thing is gaudette is clearly
Not a green type of player. Nor does he fit the identity Staios is trying to build. Why does he play so often
Fine but thats a different issue than pulling Zetterlund off the 4th line. Gaudette isn't going anywhere, but I'd rather see Reinhardt on the fourth (not that he's going to be some revelation though). Absolutely not to Halliday in a 4th line role, terrible fit.Sure, but there have to be better options for him to play with on the 4th line. Pretty sure Highmore will make it through waivers, so get Reinhart and/or Halliday up, or Crookshank. And let's get Cousins into a hyperbaric chamber and get him healed!!
Reinhart/Crookshank - Pinto - Amadio
Reinhart/Crookshank - Greig - Zetterlund
Has to be better options. Gaudette was f***ing terrible (outside of his pass to Amadio) and Highmore not much better (outside of his goal-saving dive and deflection - which only came about because the 4thnline was getting caved in...again!).
The importance of this can't be understated. It's what all Stanley Cup contenders have in common and to me is one of the biggest indicators out there of good coaching/systems.It’ll be interesting if Gaudette plays in the playoffs - I thought he’s been pretty good recently and he seems to have some big playoff goals still to score - he’s not the biggest but he’s willing, I wonder if he is in the starting lineup with Cousins back?
But what a pickup - Gaudette is the poster child for the new Sens culture that can turn mediocre AHL/Fringe NHkers into NHL players with value - Gaudette, Norris, Gregor JBD all increased their value while guys like Chabot, Firsberg, Pinto, All have increased thie value and the vets (Amadio, Perron, Cousin) all look good
Ya, a line with both Highmore and Gaudette on it is not a playoff 4th line. If they make it in, it's going to be a significant problem, so hopefully Cousins can get healthy here and at least take Highmore's spot.Zetterlund has spurred a lot of conversation.. on where he should play and what adjustments could/should be made. In that I have advocated for a stronger 4th line that can play a bigger role going forward in the quest to make the playoffs and beyond. I have suggested Greig as the 4C .. when Cousins comes back that change may make more sense., but...
The Greig Pinto Amadio line has really meshed. They are tasked with difficult defensive matchups. All 3 players are solid defensively; they can win draws, they read plays, have good sticks, and have strong battle levels. As someone said they would be hard to break up.
The issue remains the 4th line. Clearly Gaudette as a 4C is a weak link, also as a winger, Highmore is a replacement level NHL player that can be replaced internally, and Zetterlund really isn't ideally suited there. This line brings negative energy by being hemmed in our end and spends no time in the offensive zone. It will ultimately hurt us.

I think we're stuck with Gaudette whether we like it or not, unfortunately.
Lol. I don't have the type of confidence in life to actually believe in those feelings and say them out loud. Of course I hope. It's still a big if to me and my mental health this year is probably riding on them getting in or not, so I will stay petrified thank you very much. If??! Sens are 100% making the playoffs and a real threat to every team.
Yes, Halliday was a name I threw out. But my suggestion was:Fine but thats a different issue than pulling Zetterlund off the 4th line. We've been leaning on Greig Pinto Amadio pretty heavy for matchups, idk if they want to move away from that trusted trio.Yes, Halliday was a name I threw out. But my suggestion was:
Reinhart/Crookshank - Pinto - Amadio
Reinhart/Crookshank - Greig - Zetterlund
Greig would see additional time on both the PP and PK, and could conceivably move up to 3LW depending on the state of the game. Honestly, Greig with Zetterlund would be a nightmare for the opposition if Green were able to get them deployed correctly. And either of Reinhart or Crookshank can contribute just as much snarl and more offense than Highmore.
I might catch some flak for this, maybe because I've always been a Greig homer, but based on his play over the past few weeks, he could be emerging as our best all-around forward. Since the break, the game seems to have slowed down for him, and he’s everywhere—whether it's making skillful plays, battling along the boards, or creating havoc in front of the net. I always saw him as a "Mike Richards lite" type for us, and if he keeps progressing at this rate for the rest of the season, he might become our most complete forward by next season, trusted in every situation. There is a reason why the coach is playing him the most lately, and why he basically got trusted to play more than McTavish at the world juniors.
His last couple of games TOI:
19:19
20:55
21:12
18:13
Either leading the team or 2nd behind only Stutzle.
All this time that has been my thoughts too. We need to replace Giroux on the top line. Then we brought in the guy to do that and it's like, well, we can't just drop G to the 4th line like he's being outcast, so it'll be interesting to see how Green handles it. Maybe he's just waiting for an inevitable injury (hopefully short term only) to solve it for him.To be honest the line I most want to see changed is the top line, I’d like to see Zetterlund with Brady and Timmy.
But it would be odd to boot Giroux to the 4th line, so there’s no perfect scenario here.
Perron would fix our 4th line imo so that’s a logical switch, but our second line was great last night so I wouldn’t blame Green for not wanting to break it up.
I guess before it would have been pretty easy to move Giroux down since Perron was out of the line-up/not producing and Amadio, while I’ve always liked him, wasn’t as critical as he is right now imo. Plus Norris was a match-up guy, so you didn’t need the third line to be doing that exclusively. All this time that has been my thoughts too. We need to replace Giroux on the top line. Yes, we basically have 10 top 9 forwards atm. Good problem to have, but def need to figure out how to get Zetterlund more minutes as it moves along.I guess before it would have been pretty easy to move Giroux down since Perron was out of the line-up/not producing and Amadio, while I’ve always liked him, wasn’t as critical as he is right now imo. It’s a good thing that we don’t have anyone to demote though, I’m sure we’ll appreciate it when someone gets hurt.
