I don't think Larmand is the one going, at least not yet

Once Mania returns, Protz is likely a scratch as well
Oh yes forgot about him. Nice problem to have. They probably keep protz as he's younger.

I agree on Larmand. Good on faceoffs, good skater, tough, and staying out of the box. I'd move McCallum1st. He's not going to hurt you no matter where you trade him.

Sorry...I'm keeping McCallum over Larmand any day of the week. Last year, for the most part with an exception once in the Playoffs when it matters most, DM had him reigned in and playing without stepping over the line and he was productive and impactful. I'd argue that he was the most improved player by a longshot following the coaching change. Hopefully KM can keep him in line as well. We'll know by the trade deadline if he's working out or not. Larmand is such a Mediocre talent in my opinion...Doesn't do anything exceptionally well aside from winning draws but really doesn't bring anything exceptionally bad either. In the end I'd take a chance on a motivated walk the line McCallum over a Middle of the pack non-impactful player like Larmand. I've never understood how Larmand has always logged the minutes he does.
Just an opinion of course

I wouldn’t be to sure about that

Windsor have 4 OA's right now. They are going to move at some point one of A.Christopoulos, Peer or Maillet. All quality OA forwards, over point per game guys last season. Question would be, how big of upgrade offensively would one of them be over McCallum/Larmand? I know the Wolves love the "intangibles" both McCallum/Larmand bring, but at this point the way the OA market is, this could be a smart move to upgrade the OA group, and upgrade offensively up front at a reasonable cost. Pharand/Villeneuve can cover the minutes and matchups that McCallum/Larmand give you. Get another OA weapon up front (like the Soo did with Beck)

Besides the few occurrences where he tries to decapitate guys
They've both done some things that make you shake your head.

I hear you. Let's see how things workout.

This team needs McCallum. He brings way more high end talent then Larmand does. He just needs to stay away from the BS. Kid put up over 60pts last year. Put him as a set up man for Musty and we have a second scoring line.
Musty would be asking for a trade out of town with the amount of plays that die on McCallum's stick.

In a perfect world I think Laramand and McCallum are dropped, they add a new OA F, and then two more forwards at the deadline. Shipping out Taylor, Di Giantomaso, Bruce, along with a boatload of picks.

If you end up with something like this, you've got a scary team. 4 lines that can play with anyone in the OHL. Obviously it's a long season, but it should hopefully be a fun one.

Musty - Goyette - New OA
New F - Delic - Konyen
Walton - Villeneuve - New F
Yearwood - Pharand - Coughlan

DeAngeledis - Collins
Toure - Chromiak
Anania - Mania

Toure
Deangelis
Chromiak

That’s gotta be one of the best 6 in the league if not the best
In a way feels like Papineau made the DeAngelis deal unsure/preparing for Toure not to be sent back to the Wolves but in the end he ends up having BOTH! Really like what the Wolves are doing. Now the focus is solely on adding forwards, not many holes to fill

Maybe just me but I think the wolves can upgrade on konyen as well. Again, maybe it's just me. McCallum will get you more than Larmand. Whorlth knows what konyen can get you. Worth exploring.

Goaltending - with the D being a solid 6, I would think they don't need to be great but good. Little concerned with the euro allowing goals up high. I'd really like them to play krawchuk a little more to see who's the clear number 1. But, I don't think they brought him over to be a backup

Christopolous in that 1st line vacant spot.
Rehkopf in that 2nd line vacant spot.

Thats at lot of goals added.
Isn't christopolous hurt? 49 G's last season. Wow. Who was on his line

At this stage, I'm not sure you're getting much for either if you choose to upgrade them. Finding them a place to play is about all you can do. The market has been set, and in the game of musical OA chairs the music has stopped.

Yes, from what I understand he’s supposed to miss the first month or two of the season. But he did play 68 games last year so in comparing him to, say, Martin in Kitchener, he has shown he can play a relatively healthy season.

And I might add: in the playoffs last year versus Kitchener, Christopoulos was probably one of Windsor‘s few bright lights in that series.

But I believe if you wanted to spend assets in other areas, maybe on an 04 first liner, Martin would still be a very good OA option to play in your top six.

Rehkopf is a “money in the bank” sniper, especially on the PP. He’s listed as a centre but has played a lot of wing from the left side. And he’s an 05 which makes acquiring him for Taylor + picks a little easier versus a one and done half season rental.

Good point. Wolves could use a sniper on the pp. It hasn't looked good . Will help with musty back but I agree, you need a true sniper on the pp.

I'd rather have someone better offensively. Beck's incredibly overrated offensively, and defensively the wolves already have a lot of good forwards.
Owen Beck is what a contending team needs to win a championship. His ability to win most of the face offs he takes can be the difference of winning or losing a close game in the playoffs. He plays a 200 foot game. Sudbury does not have a two way forward that is anywhere close to the player Owen Beck is.

Christopolous is another guy I'd stay away from. He scored 49 goals on only 230 shots on goal. No way is that sustainable again this year. Wolves should be looking for a higher volume shooter who brings other things to the ice. I saw folks suggesting Stonehouse, and if Ottawa wanted to move on from him he'd be a perfect candidate, but I don't see Ottawa selling on him.

A lot of it comes down to who the contenders are at the deadline.

Rehkopf is the best possible pickup for the wolves I'd argue. Other guys I really like are Peer from Windsor who's a very capable playmaker and would play well with Goyette I feel. Ideally if they can find a big talented Right Winger for the third line. You can roll out something like this.

Musty - Goyette - Peer
Rehkopf - Delic - Konyen
Walton - Villeneuve - Big RW
Yearwood - Pharand - Coughlan

DeAngeledis - Collins
Toure - Chromiak
Anania - Mania

Obviously, it's all dreamland and make-believe right now. I don't expect many more(if any) moves until around the deadline.
