Is Konyen going to take a step this year? Do you think he can get close to a point per game to play in the top 6?

Lots of wolves fans seem to have soured on him for whatever reason. I think he can hit a point per game this season. He's got really good hockey IQ, works extremely hard and is not afraid to battle for the puck despite his smaller size. He won't wow anyone, but there's definitely value in the skillset he brings.

Wow with all the projected scenarios Pharand is still in the mix no suggestions of moving him, what am I missing?

I think Konyen should be moved as well. He may (should) have his best season this year, but I don't see him as tough gritty playoff type forward (with size) that I think the line-up will require throughout. He should have good value in the market nonetheless.

While he's not going to go out there and throw a big hit, he battles along the boards and in the corners as good as anyone on the roster. He's willing to play in the tough areas to get points as well.

Konyen would most likely be an OA next year. But ya i just want to see Sudbury go for it big this year
he was up for trade last year, i think he is the type of player that online twitter scouts live but teams see as easily found.

He can be a point a game guy if he’s a complimentary player on the top line. Otherwise it’s unlikely. He’s not very good at getting to dirty spaces and he gives away the puck a lot but he knows where the net is and can give and finish good feeds around the net.

Already this young season he is taking the puck to the net hard and paying the price. Hockey IQ, desire, unselfishness and courage are exactly what we need. He’s gotta stay.

High hockey IQ players get drafted in the show. Don’t get fooled he’s way over his head on the first line.

There's a huge difference between OHL ability and NHL upside. Your bad takes in this thread continue to prove an inability to understand what makes OHL success. You don't win in the OHL by graduating the most players to the NHL.

Guess the wolves wont win many games this year with scrubs like Delic and Konyen in the lineup according to you.

I wouldn't say he's over his head on the first line but if he's the best player on the first line, then you have issues. He slots in with Delic and Goyette just fine but let's see what happens when he's on the second line Friday.

Read carefully what I’ve been saying for a year. Delic is a key player for this team centering a third line or winger on the second line. Its all about hockey IQ. Delic has a high motor but he is just not the top dog on this team like so many of you who love grinder who can score seem to think. Same for Konyen he needs to find his chair either on the second or third line. If he still puts points on the board not playing with Musty and Goyette then he’s worth keeping.

I guess since I don’t understand the OHL these rosters aren’t something you think would win a title ?

My Fantasy Memorial cup roster

Musty-Goyette-Hayes
Delic-Beck-Mesar
Martin-Villeneuve-Pharand
Yearwood-Walton-Coughlan

Donovan-Collins
DeAngelis-Toure
Anania-Mania

Or B less expensive

Musty-Beck-Goyette
Delic-Villeneuve-Konyen
Martin-Melee-Pharand
Yearwood-Walton-Coughlan

Same D pairings

Goyette-Delic-Konyen is fine, better defensively with Delic centre imo.
Maybe Lockhart (pretty good at everything) can be the third OA if the wolves really don’t like Konyen there. Then I can get on board with moving Konyen as he needs and compliments Goyette. He would be kind of useless on a line you would want out against others top line or on an energy line.

I’d use the big add to build a 2nd line; Musty-Villeneuve-X
Hayes >Mysak = or >Sale >Pitre = or >Stonehouse …if any will be available

Rather than add 3-5 forwards, I’d prefer 1-2 forwards and a top pairing D. The wolves D is now good, very deep, quite possibly the best 3-4-5 in the league. Though I’m not sure there is a pair that can take control in all situations late in the playoffs.

The first line allowed 1 goal in the last 4 games on a Konyen turnover in Ottawa… not too bad

Didn’t see an official announcement on Toure returning. Am I missing it? In fact he’s not on the teams roster. Just saying….

Multiple sources, includin Ben Leeson reporting it, but here's one with no ties to the Wolves as well
