Should be interesting to see if there's a Chromiak deal in the coming days. Wolves have 14 days from the day Dvorsky reported, to trade or release Chromiak. Hopefully Wolves are pushing hard for Donovan from Brantford, with a Chromiak and picks package. Wolves defense core would be set with a top pairing guy like Donovan joining. Would also be our best Dman option for the PP.
Teams are not going to trade their big name players yet. Jorian Donovan is Brantford’s big name that likely will be traded closer to the deadline but not now. I think Sudbury fans will likely be disappointed in the return for Jakub Chromiak. At best they may get a 2nd and a 4th or a depth player for him. Teams know Sudbury has to trade him and they are likely not willing to pay market value for him. The reason he has not been traded is that teams are not offering much for him and the longer he is not traded the lower the return will likely be. We are not sure if Kingston and Brantford are even interested in him. Kingston drafted a highly rated import that they are hoping will sign with them and Brantford drafted two Czech players. Given their history of getting players from that region to report after the World Juniors they are likely not interested in adding another import.

At this point it's a guessing game what Chromiak's trade value will be. Best case is if there's 2 or 3 teams pushing hard for Chromiak, creating a bidding war and best offer gets Chromiak. That could be a reason no deal has been announced yet. Though for the player's sake, I hope Sudbury doesn't drag their feet too much on waiting it out until the 14th day if that's the case. On the flip side, if there's only like one serious team in play for Chromiak, then Sudbury holds no leverage and could be lowballed. There's got to be fair ground somewhere with regards to Chromiak's value. He's a quality 05 player that would help many teams on the backend. This is a special circumstance deal with the Import rules. If Wolves could land a picks package (2nd & 3rd or 2nd & 4th), that would be fine. If Wolves only end up landing a single pick like a 3rd, that would be a little underwhelming but if it comes down to it anything is better than nothing (having to release Chromiak). Whatever team ends up landing Chromiak, whether it be through trade or waivers, will be very happy.

I can see Walton being the first player drafted on the team. He’s got the best upside and size helps.
Walton's potential with his size is definitely sky high. Villeneuve on the other hand I feel like is a fairly safe bet to play in the NHL one day. Both likely going to be good picks.

Villeneuve has that compete/battle/intensity in him that NHL teams crave & is defensively responsible. If he can put up a good offensive season (~PPG) I see him as a candidate to sneak in the late 1st round. My more conservative prediction though is 2nd-3rd as he is slated right now. One thing that may work against him though is that he looks like he's 24 and won't have as much physical growth as other players going forward.

Walton's upside is high - very raw though. He needs to be more assertive to really turn heads. I find it hard to believe his skill set wouldn't at least be a late NHL pick. I'll say he goes in that 4th-5th round range that Pharand/Mania went last year but has the potential to push higher if he takes big steps this season. Most intriguing player on the team right now for me personally.

Well that is pretty unfortunate timing for Toure to get hurt with all of this Jakub Chromiak stuff going on. Luckily Wolves still have the d numbers, but that is a big hit.

Would love to see Chromiak moved soon. I know we still have a bit of time here but just for his sake it woulda been nice if he coulda played somewhere this weekend.

Yeah I'm trying to be as patient as I can but I really want this Chromiak situation to reach a conclusion asap. Still hope its the Petes but for his sake as well, just hope it happens soon and he doesn't have to miss many more games

Better now than in the new year. Gives the bubble OA’s more opportunity to “state their case” to stay.
Yes better now than right before the playoffs. Second half really tells the tale anyway. When the heck is Mania back?
On another note Anania is quitley having a pretty good season so far. Smart player, like his game.
