Sudbury Wolves 2023-24 Season Thread (Part One)

Through one period the new first line has been mostly pinned in its own end aside from the goal. Wolves really need to find a way to wake up in time for these games, another rough start.
 
Dali could have easily had 2 goals that period. Robbed both times. Day made some impressive saves that period. Konyen with a bone head giveaway on the 1st Flint goal. Pharand invisible out there. If I'm Wolves no way I'm dealing Villeneuve or Walton in any deal. They are upgrades on Pharand and Konyen at this point. Toure is a big presence missing.

I disagree. Dvorsky needs to get settled in. Musty is easily the best player on the ice. Flints goalie made a couple nice saves. The shots were very much in the wolves favour. The giveaway at the start was disappointing, but the wolves have carried the play.

Kudos to the wolves decision that bilingual advertising on the score clock is more important then showing the score or the time.

Edit: Praise the gods it seems to have returned for the second.

To make the deals for the big names the Sudbury Wolves may have no choice but to trade some of their young players. Most teams are going to want younger players in addition to draft picks for their elite players.

Goyettes head is still in Seattle. Atleast I assume.based on how many times he skates the puck into 4 opponents,loses it and then refuses to backcheck.
 
What McKenzie should be telling his team is, every team knows what's up in Sudbury and they're going to show up. This team poorly
prepared

Pharhand playing 4th line as a 4th round pic. Something has to give


Dario you see the number of fans in the building tonight. Give RP the resources , like you did last season, and get a legit coach to take over this team.

Agreed with everything, except Pharand is playing where he deserves to play, he's not been good at all this year. Someone should remind him he's one of the bigger guys on the ice.

I didn't say doesn't belong on the 4th atm
But something needs to give at some point.

Ugly ugly period. Guys losing battles all over the ice. Can't connect on passes. Horrible turnovers, missed assignments in the D zone. Lots of individuals trying to do it all themselves. Don't like the lines. Was a much better effort Wednesday against Missy. Only down by 2 going into the 3rd, they gotta get their act in gear. Day looks good right now so Wolves will have their work cut out for them

They missed toure tonight but what id like to ask Kenny is regarding his bench management. Why his #1 line was not on the ice at a crucial time of the game. They came on with very little time left on the clock. 29 seconds .Unbelievable.

Musty and Goyette extra long shifts, Dvorsky comes off they are still on the ice for another minute or more. I question the leadership group on this team that is selfish to me.

And ask the retired mailman why he called a timeout after the Firebirds iced the puck and had a tired line out there and our top guys has just gotten on. Not like he was going to draw a play up on his worn out whiteboard. Dinosaurs don’t use tablets.

Later in the 3rd period I saw him go over to them. Obviously not sure what was said but I'd assume he was talking to them about that. They pretty much blew him off.

Yea he was a mailman but from what I know he was mainly incharge of the billets dept etc as a assistant GM. . He should step down and will probably be able to head back upstairs and resume his old job.
