what I observed in tonight game...
1- shifts are way too long for a few players
2- defense gives up the blue line way too easy
3- I would separate the top line, they all play the same style. they keep skating in to each other.
4- way to much stick checking, and skating away from (Or giving up on ) the play. (not hungry).
5- I would have sat Musty after the 1st period. i lost count how many times he gave up the puck and just gave up....

there is more.... sorry for the rant. this team is built to win now. I don't want to see wasted.

It's a frustrating team to watch. They need to be coached, they have so much potential. At this point it's going to be wasted. If they can't win with this group I really question why to continue supporting this team.

Day made at least five highlight reel saves tonight and was the difference.

The Wolves are definitely filled with talent, but this situation is giving me Billy Burke vibes- when Niagara had a stacked team filled with pro talent and he coached like house league coach and they ended up losing to Oshawa (the team they bought all their players from and wrecked their future). If they are just going to go with talent with what looks like bad coaching we might as well all pack it in right now. I am more than willing to eat crow if this goes the other way, but this is looking like a duck - I think it’s a duck.

Yea he was a mailman but from what I know he was mainly incharge of the billets dept etc as a assistant GM. . He should step down and will probably be able to head back upstairs and resume his old job.
Dvorsky came as advertised.
Krawchuk couldn't come up with a save when needed
Not getting much out of Pharand.
Goyette missed the net at least 5 times
Coaching blew it again. Ken"Sleepy Joe" M calls a timeout on an icing. Before that he had the Dvorsky line out from the 3:00- 2:00. Puts out the the Delic line out with 2:00 left than cant get the Dvosky line out until 29 sec left.
Game is too fast for Sleepy Joe!

He hangs onto the puck to long sometimes(Musty). Goyette has a few more issues I find, including puck turnovers. He needs to slow his game down abit. You don't always need to be moving a hundred miles an hour everytime you get the puck. I think that would help his turnover ratio.

Frustrating but exciting game.

Dvorsky is gonna be a good one. Had 4-5 very good scoring chances tonight - could have had multiple goals. Thought he looked really good on the power play & gave us a boost.

Holy smokes was Jackson ever good - looked like an OHL defenceman to me. Hope he logs lots of ice in Stouffville this year. Small sample size (1st viewing) but could see him being a legit top 4 D as soon as next year. Very impressed tonight by him.

I think Anania has been great so far this season - very steady & sound veteran presence out there. That "A' looks good on him - never shows poor body language.

Tough start to the year for Krawchuk but I'm still very high on him.

Zach Giroux would look great in a Wolves jersey!

Could not agree more, I don't think pryce saw any ice time in the third, not sure if it was injury or benching, but having Jackson in the lineup every night over him would be a huge upgrade.

Pharhand looked pretty dejected on the bench during the timeout. It will be an interesting watch to see what takes place with him.

quite interested to see what happens with him. Really thought he was going to catch fire going back home to Sudbury. Still early so he could and I hope he does

His 1st half last season was good but his second half not so much. Still managed to go in the 4th round. Happy for him but not an ideal situation playing 4th line minutes and penalty kill.

Dvorsky is definitely the real deal. He can drive a line by himself. Goyette as center on another line would be a great one two punch. Wolves have too many centers trying to convert to the wing. I still think Yearwood and Coughlin should be together and had much success together last year. Would love to see Villeneuve between the 2 of them..
I found Musty and Goyette were turn over machines the first half of the game Especially high in the offensive zone. Too puck focused on tracking back which allowed a number high slot scoring chances. Need to find your guy. Need some accountability regarding shift length, body language, banging stick on the ice for a pass etc. It's so contagious and detrimental to the culture. Nice to see the power play generate chances. Hopefully Dvorsky's quick puck movement will be contagious.

With the shift lengths of certain players tonight, I can't recall Walton getting much ice.

It's a domino effect cause when the next line goes on their trying to make up for lost ice

Should be interesting to watch tomorrow night

I saw that Dali got off the ice long before his linemates did. Did Dali just get off early or did his linemates just take overly long shifts?

You have to be kidding me loll Musty made at least 10 turnovers tonight pkaying selfish he couldn’t keep up with his other two linemates.Delic and Konyen are a mess too

If I get a chance I’ll post a little more of my thoughts on Musty, Goyette and the Wolves tomorrow. The team I’m pretty sure I wanna see representing the East in this year’s OHL finals. After watching the game and then his interview though? I had to comment. That is probably the most impressive debut for a European on NA ice I’ve seen. No preseason adjustment. I showed up yesterday. Let’s go! Lights out debut. Then “I’m gonna follow it up with the most humble, mature, professional press conference”. Just killed it. Super impressed by him. From opening face off win to the end of the press conference. If Quentin and David (I’m actually a big fan of both) start following the standard he set tonight? Look out OHL. Everybody is in trouble.

I think the Musty & Goyette type guys on this team are just tuning Ken out. They just do their own thing out there and it really shows at times. And the young guys getting less minutes because of bad game management are pissed on the bench (Paharand, Walton) Time to get a real leader and coach in there that can take these talented young men to the next Level. Out with the Old I say
