I like all us Wolves fans are unhappy and perhaps rightfully so seeing a pretty bad game with some concerns but I wanted you to know my dad just said the same thing and he knows hockey so we’ll see. Total respect for you, I can’t imagine another opposing team’s supporter to write this kind of post and I’ve read a few.Ottawa was opportunistic and Sudbury was out goaltended. Sudbury had more puck possession. Ottawa’s 2nd goal came off a turnover that probably should have been a penalty.
I read some of these comments post game and don’t understand. This was a close game that IMO favoured Sudbury from a puck possession perspective. A bounce here or there and maybe a different tilt on the goaltending and it is 3-0 the other way.
Ottawa is very controlled in their own end and do have great goaltending. Games like this happen for Ottawa.
You don’t generate 8 PP opportunities by being continuously outplayed.
I think we’re all feeling like that. Heaven hope Wednesday is different. My worry is management will allow us to languish in mediocrity before considering any changes. Is Zulich knowledgeable enough to see the PP. What is Papineau thinking. Whatever else this Power Play looks like one of us could be coaching it and likely do better. Has to change and if these guys can’t bring in someone who can. We can’t waste this year. It may even turn me off.How long do we go with the 20th ranked pp, dating back to last year before whoever coaches it is held accountable? Imagine wasting a year with this much talent because we don’t have the coaching to execute with the tools in place. It’s absolutely embarrassing.

He hasn't coached a team in 30 years, but has had his fingers on the team through one role or another from the early 90's until now. We need someone younger who can relate to the players and understands todays youth.
This is on ownership and the GM to fix as we do have the pieces (90%) to make a long run this year. Can't do it if your unwilling to pay for a coach!
Exactly. If it was Derek coaching and Ken just around that would be one thing. But to have the oldest coach in the OHL, having not coached at this level in many years, and no track record of any real success at this level, is unacceptable.I've said it before, the coach is out of touch with today's game

Excellent post. You summed up exactly how I saw it for the Petes last year. I must say I didn’t think they would but I knew in the back of my mind they could. Watching the game on tv. It’s never quite as bad as it seemed live. Don’t like the Wolves on a Sunday (don’t like Sunday afternoon games period, would rather Sunday evening).Dear Wolves fans,
I understand your pain and frustration.
I cheer for a team who was supposed to be a top team last year.
We had a veteran team that looked great on paper.
We made trades at the deadline, going all in........and won only 5 of the next 15 games.
Fans complained about the coach and questioned the GM who traded away two of their promising young players and a boatload of picks.
They were calling for heads to roll.
The coach sounded like a broken record after losses - "We have to be better, but it's going to come".
After the trade deadline, he told the players to be patient - focus on the process, not the results and not to listen to the negative noise they were hearing from the public.
It all sounded great in theory but I was pulling my hair out. We had made all of these trades, mortgaging the future and when the dust had settled at the end of the regular season, the best this "powerhouse team" could do was 4th place.
Then, all of the sudden, they flipped the switch and took their fans on a roller coaster ride to an OHL championship.
Your Wolves remind me of last year's Petes.
A solid goalie, by the looks of it, in Vondras.
With the return of Toure, your defense will be tough to play against.
Be patient......it's now how you start the season, it's how you finish.
Use this time to identify which players have the skill, attitude and character that you require to build your championship team.
In the meantime the GM can identify trade targets that can compliment the pieces you have.
The great news is that you have the draft picks/young players to make the necessary deals.
Enjoy the ride; I'll be pulling for you guys.........except when you play against the Petes
No need to panic, maybe alarmed if Miss beats both Sudbury & NB this week.Team is 4-3 and everyone is in panic mode! We just need to allow the team a little time and they will be just fine! Team play rather than individual efforts will definitely need to be the focus this week. Big test with Missy on Wednesday . Go Wolves!
I guess some teams are willing to make moves when the expectations are high.
But no, no need to panic, if the last 20+ years of wolves hockey I've watched have taught me anything it that this team never underperforms, and everything always works itself out.
Yes he should have. If things go South, that will be an awkward conversation. Then again, he'll probably keep the ass gm position.Exactly. When someone like Hunter or Butler ( and McKenzie is even older than them), says something to the young players, they can at least look at the past 20 years and see where these coaches were successful. With this Wolves team, they are wondering why this “old man” who has no track record in this league as a coach for the last thirty years is at the helm. When Derek left, Ken should have went back to Assistant GM role or whatever they were calling him before Derek was hired. Plain and simple, Wolves need a new coach. Before long it will the 90’s again and the “Fire McKenzie” signs will be out again, and this time Sam McMaster won’t be around to rip them out of people’s hands.
I figure they're likely going to try him in the AHL to start, who knows though. I'd hate to have to move on from Chromiak with how much he's improved.
The biggest problem with moving Vondras is you become one injury away from disaster.Agreed! I'd almost rather trade Vondras, but I know that's crazy talk!

I believe brother Martin Chromiack played in KTown..Would be an unfortunate situation if forced to trade Chromiak, but a good problem to have if it means the Wolves land a top end talent like Dvorsky. It becomes a numbers game with Chromiak, especially with Mania returning shortly and Toure back. Also good news if an Import trade is needed, there's a handful of teams off the top of my head that have an open Import spot that would be lined up for Chromiak's services - Hamilton, Kingston, Oshawa, Peterborough, Windsor
Whatever a potential deal looks like, I just really hope Chromiak ends up with the Petes! If he is actually coming here hopefully we move Chromiak plus picks and grab another Dman or forward outta it
