Chomriak not coming to the OHL


Translation:
Defender Jakub Chromiak is not going to the OHL, but remains in Trenčín.

This could be an epic fail for Papineau. We'll see what happens. Was really excited to see him play. He sounds like an elite Dman. Dukla Trencin is pretty loaded on D, so Chromiak will have to really impress to get big minutes there on D

If it's like last year, rookie camp is just the first day and a half or so of main camp.

30+ goals, ~65pts, and 4-7 among OHL drafted next summer seems fair. He plays with Villeneuve & Pharrand?
I want to see a clear window of opportunity to contend; hopefully, the wolves can acquire a near future ‘05 born top 3 D for picks from a team wanting to be buyers at the dead line.

It’s not a guarantee that Jakub won’t join Sudbury. A very similar situation occurred with his older brother, who was drafted 2nd overall by Kingston. He was buried by Trencin and eventually came to Kingston in January and was very productive. If Jakub is limited to 7th dman, which I think is rather unlikely, he would go to Sudbury

Who will be backing up Ranger? Think goulton. Can't play Ranger like they did weeks last year, they'll burn him out before playoffs

They could also be hoping that Kulonummi comes this year instead of Chromiak, with Chromiak coming next. Kulonummi would be a very good add to the Wolves blue line, though even then they'll still have an import slot open I believe.

I think using one import pick as speculation is fine, but 2, especially when you have no imports returning, would be a fireable offense imo.

Rossi might have something to say about that. Could see Gaulton being the Sudbury Cubs starter this season. Unless he flat out wins the back up role over a guy like Rossi or even Morrow if he shows up for camp

As a Habs fan, to be fair, because of the Covid mess, Dichow couldn't come over, not a fault of your management in any way. Would have been nice to see him in the OHL as he put up amazing stats in the Allsvenskan last season 18-9-0 2.27 .930 and will be in the SHL with Frolundia this season.

Wolves drafted him in the 2019 import draft, He declined to come over for 2019-2020. He was planning to join the team for 2020-2021.

So the best-case scenario was a bad pick as it left the wolves with only one mediocre import to start the 19-20 season, and he would have shown up the next year after he had a very mediocre season for Malmo U20.
