Well to reiterate the obvious, there’s no way in hell a team can win when they spend the majority of the game killing penalties. Something has to be done about the lack of discipline.
Bright spots, Assadourian, Toure) not sure about the spelling) Mania, Walton and although he hasn’t been mentioned I thought Pharand looked good.
I sure hope it was just an off game for Ranger as he had a tough night.

Wolves missing almost all their key guys so hard for a true evaluation of the team as a whole right now but if this game was any indication to me discipline remains most pressing issue.

I thought the Wolves showed some spark, but not enough good defence to control the score. Remember Ranger most likely had better defence in front of him last year. Asadourian played well and shot the puck when he needed to. Mauro played small and scared, hope that goes away as they will never breakout of the end if he won’t take a pass....think this maybe a mistake taking him, cannot see him sticking with the team. I wish Musty would shoot more and be a little more selfish, nice passes to line mates that resulted in nothing. Twin towers ( Walton brothers) played good. Kieron is a gem and Connor is still a project and time with the Paper Kings will only help him out.
Little disappointed in Pharand and thought we would see a little more puck activity. Still he is 17 and still learning the game. McCallum, like I said before , to many brain cramps while on the ice. One shift he skates around, the entire opposition and next shift he is cross checking a player lying on the ice. I think the Wolves could get a second for him.

Can't see them getting a second. 4th maybe. Paps not one to sit on his hands he'll upgrade that position if he can.

Wolves aren't going anywhere... glad it was clarified:

Zulich, who owns the Sudbury Wolves and the Sudbury Five, made an innuendo-laden statement last Friday before the hockey game. But this week, he clarified and said his commitment to Greater Sudbury is unwavering.

“Regarding a new arena, let me be equally as clear. As the owner of the Sudbury Wolves, I want the players, the fans and all the people of Sudbury to enjoy our brand of hockey in a new events centre, not a refurbished arena,” he said. “The location of that new facility within Sudbury, be it in the east end, downtown or even South End, is not my decision to make. It is a decision of council.”

I will take it. We have players to move, and a 5th & 7th for a 10th round pick with 22 games under his belt. Works for me. I wish him well.

Sure going to miss his toughness, not sure I like this trade. At least he goes back home. Hope an import is in the works as it looks at this point Paps blew it again. How can you have the nineth overall plc and the player does not report at this point. You do not build for the future like that.

Toure replaces his toughness with a lot less dumb penalties. Plus he has actually size and strength.

I agree I think we will regret this deal. He will be worth more than a 5th and a 7th by the end of the season. Sarnia will have him for 3 years and I think he will become a force regardless of his smaller stature. He was our fastest LD. Anania, Holmes and Robinson are all slower.

Let’s hope an import is on his way because I don’t think Bishop or Walton are even close to playing in this league.

Owen Protz is on the roster. Maybe he takes Hoover’s spot. I believe he is more ready than Bishop and Walton.

But then again with Holmes and Collins at NHL camp and where ever Robinson is I guess they needed to call him up.

Toure is found money and with Bruce, Protz, Walton and Bischop in the pipeline…I’ll take those picks any day! Furthermore, don’t be surprised to see Chromiak here in the new year.

I was going the same the pipeline looks good on D. I did like Hoover compete level, he was loosing it on Mania after one goal they got scored on, I liked that he cared.

And that’s why I’m a little disappointed about this deal. We haven’t had enough time to see what Hoover can turn out to be for us. I understand we have Protz, Bruce, Bishop, Walton, Hyhyn and others. But you can’t deny how solid Hoover is. He played really tough for us near the end of last season and judging by his holding Mania accountable after a goal that’s leadership material. But I guess time will tell what happens in the coming months. Maybe Chromiak does agree to come over. My wish is to upgrade our OA spot on defence with someone with leadership skills and who can control the game. L. Moore from Oshawa would be a good fit on that left side or possible Deline from Flint.

Any word on Villeneuve’s injury??? Short or long term?? Ben Leeson hasn’t indicated anything yet on his status.

Was this the goal where Hoover lost his man and was standing near 0 of the others teams offensive players when it was scored? I'm pretty sure it was.

I attended 6 or 7 games last year and really liked the potential of the young kids on this team.

I was at the Barrie game this week and am very concerned with the lack of discipline of our players. If our coaching staff doesn't reign in some of these guys, it's going to be a very tough year. Especially since we don't have the goalie we had last year to keep us in games when badly outshot.

The sad thing is that it's the same usual characters that are causing harm. I am not able to understand why the same individuals continue to get the ice time they get. I have no time for players like McCallum or Musty or even Mania at times. Same bad attitude and always discipline issues that puts the team in a bad situation.

The good news is that we have players like Goyette, Delic & Konyen up front that are going be a formidable 1st line again this year. We also have veteran defenders like Holmes and Collins to lead the way on D to teach the new kids on D this year.

I was so surprised at how good Pharand and especially Assadourian played last game. Both players were working hard and creating chances. I actually think with his skating and compete level, Assadourian has the potential to be a top line C in this league. I also think Pharand has all the tools to be a dominant power forward. Musty and Mania are very good players as well, but lazy and undiciplined penalties will be the downfall of this team.

Coaching has to be better to address these issues.

The wolves got full value for one of their many replacement level D. The wolves are loaded now and into the future with replacement level D. I’d say Collins is above average and Mania well above for their ages.
Hoover probably slots in as #7 D/injury replacement, and maybe 4-5 next season as a 19 yr old. If that’s the case, Sarnia did ok in the trade too.
