Looks like we got a little more speed and grit but I think we are still really weak defensively. You won't see Morrow nor Rossi around again. Rumour mill has it Morrow turned down on offer. Maybe it was only a one year or something. Either way they both will be going ncaa
It is the 2003 born forwards that will determine how the wolves fare this season imo. The D & G are comparatively older and big; they won’t necessarily be good, but not necessarily problematic either.

Krawchuk just played better. End of story.

Figured it was odd Morrow wasn’t signed. He played well enough in camp to deserve it. Not sure the specifics of deals but assuming he is keeping his options open since he’s 18 and won’t see much action behind an overage.

Rossi well just didn’t improve enough. Happy he came to camp and gave it a shot but it appears his development hasn’t improved since his draft year. Too bad since he was ranked high going into the draft.

As for McCallum he needs to keep his emotions in check. Not what you want your young players learning. Being a vet you need to show them that you can’t get frustrated with on ice stuff. Especially getting heated with the officials. Wolves need an a team leader who can keep this stuff in check with teammates. Not sure if Holmes, DeGrazia or Robinson are those guys.

Hoping our 1st rounder is ok. He’s had some injuries through the summer and now getting laid out in camp hurts as it puts out of early experience in pre season games. Sort of like Musty last year.

Says you? Some people thought Morrow was better, some people thought Krawchuk was better. Based on a single exhibition game, Krawhcuk does not look good.
Lol. You forget he played a ton in training camp. You think he'd be somewhat fatigued? I'm done with you take good care.

We definitely have some monster size in defence for years. Bishop, Bruce, Collins, Toure, Walton, Protz. I like it and I hope they play mean. Tired of getting pushed around in our own zone. Add in Hoover who’s stocky and pretty solid himself will only add to the overall toughness.

I wonder who will play in Espo this year. We have quite a few signed guys. Have to think a trade or release of a couple of forwards.

I was expecting them to be among the first announced signings, definitely ahead of Protz and Mauro, but the good news is that they’re signed.

I would expect Gaulton and Walton the defenseman to play there. Protz in CCHL, Bruce at St Andrew’s. Too many forwards right now, I expect at least one 19 year old vet to go

Lucas is quite young as well. Turns 17 in Nov. Things are about to get interesting.

The Wolves seem to have the same level of discipline as last year.

yes I thought the same, hopefully it is pre-season and they get this out their system.

I was really surprised on the temper on Villeneuve, needs to control that. In a way it's nice that he doesn't back down but you going to run into the wrong guy.

I really like our young Defencemen today l like their size and composure.

The young forwards also played well. Also nice shutout by Ranger.

I really like the fact that the Wolves today did not get pushed around with no response! They have size, can hit, can fight and can score. I would rather them drop the mitts than yell at a ref and get abuse if official type penalties. Last year we had nobody stand up it was all chirping. I like the Hoover pair today. They hit hard today. Just so pleased with the physicality. It’s a long season and the Wolves will NOT get pushed around this year. Can’t wait for the season to start.

And the Lone Ranger was amazing!!! That’s what we want in net.

Villeneuve embarrased himself tonight in front of his hometown crowd. Running around all night and then spends most the 3rd in the box before dropping the gloves with a 5 ft"8 featherweight.lol..

Get out of here! He’s a rookie and took on a second year player who asked for it. Get lost. Don’t be jealous!!!

Just remember that Marc Crawford told Terry Chitaroni while playing in Newfoundland, that there are players here to score goals and players here to fight. With your size and ability, you are here to score. Chitaroni did not listen and hurt his back fighting bigger players. So I am not saying Villeneuve should not fight , just be careful who you fight. There are enough big guys on this team to do the policing.
