Really looking forward to Canada v USA games .. but the tourney does not due it for me .. timing also seems off

i'm excited. its nice change for once and expect the games to be real fun. i bet the second the tournament begins you will see some people who said they have no interest started watching it...its same thing with the leafs. they're always "first people to say "regular season doesn't count" and yet the first to get mad if the lose a random game. It seem like being grumpy all the time is their shtick.

How can any hockey fan not be excited?
Especially considering how long it's been since we got anything close to this.

Soccer is my number 2 sport and if they all of a sudden had a mini tourney with Brazil/Argentina/Italy/England best on best, those countries would be all in IMO.....and they actually get regular tourneys too.

I mean, Crosby and McDavid are about to share the ice for Canada for the first time and people are saying they don't wanna watch? I don't understand that as a Canadian hockey fan.

I am just not excited. I want to watch it and I think it'll be entertaining? Is that OK?

That's fine I guess, I just don't quite understand the lack of enthusiasm.

I know it's just a precursor to the big show at the Olympics but this is a tourney of 4 of the top 6 teams in the world with many of the top players in the world getting tested at this level for the first time. I mean, the stakes are actually pretty huge for the players as they are going through an exam to for the Olympics.....and who the hell wants to see anyone else but us have bragging rights?

Canada really went heavy on the 2-way forwards up front. part of it is the two way mentality they have adopted after the 2006 debacle but also to compensate for goaltending worries IMO.

Goal differential can certainly be affected by goaltending in your own net but considering almost all these guys face up against the highest of QoC, very good numbers overall. Outside of a couple of outliers (McDavid, Crosby, Marchand), scoring falls off pretty hard in the playoffs but it does that generally.

Really hard to play against team overall.

I love yelling at clouds. The only thing I love more is yelling at terrible Toronto drivers. This city must have the worst collection of drivers in any major city.

I'm sure adding new bike lanes and the ever increasing rotating road closures are sure to help the issue.....and I still drive my way in every time dammit.

This isn't the best roster Canada can assemble. Unfortunately our best goaltender is staying home which will work out nicely for the Caps. Not a fan of the coaching staff and a lot of the players on Team Canada. Very unlikeable group. I haven't really cared for international tournaments since the 2002 Olympics.

Probably because it’s a made up money grab of tourney in the middle of an NHL season where many teams are trying to make a run for the playoffs , or jockey for a better position.
Everyone best hope that no teams major stars get injure and derail their entire season.
Finally if you win the tournament you haven’t beaten the best in the world because it only 3 other countries. So where is the meaning
