Cliche after Cliche, may as well run out a tape recorder instead of Duncanson himself.
One phrase came to mind when watching today’s game, “Don’t poke the Bear”! When a team starts 8-0, no lead is big
How much confidence do you have in your powerplay unit when you pull your goalie and risk having a clearing pass go in to the empty net.Papineau/Duncanson and the rest of the coaching staff continue to make strategic gaffes that really hurt this teamWell folks the lights went out on the Wolves literally!!! After playing sound for 1 and 1/2 periods the Wolves with a 3-0 lead decided to take the foot off the pedal. With Coach Cameron pulling his starter and two fights within minutes after each other gave the Ottawa 67’s new life. 3-1 after the forecheck for Ottawa paid off when the Wolves D couldn’t clear the puck out of their zone. 3-2 when the relentless forecheck resulted in another goal for Ottawa making it within 1 goal to tie. Wolves on the PP which again showed very little energy or puck movement resulted in a Musty turnover and Ottawa ties the game.
Ottawa seemed to find their legs in the third period and emptied the tank and kept the Wolves hemmed in their own end for minutes at a time. Boucher takes a rebound after Anania couldn’t clear the puck again and don’t tie up Boucher who easily batted in a go ahead goal.
Things got more pathetic when the Wolves had a PP late in the game and with the goalie pulled and 6 attackers and puck control in the offensive zone Robinson could not handle a simple pass on the line resulting in a turnover and empty net goal for Ottawa. Puck movement continues to be slow and very little threat as the Wolves do not have a effective QB on the point. Continue to have difficulty on breakouts through the neutral zone. No consistent puck puck pursuit allowing Ottawa to clear their zone very easy. As well Wolves gave Ottawa some new life by dropping the gloves and having Goyette sit for 5!!! Not sure what message the coach is giving his players but it seemed untimely to engage. Without some minor tweaking to this line up soon they may find themselves fighting to find a playoff spot as the season progresses. The East just has too many teams that are deep and no game will be easy.
Overall Wolves did not take advantage of a team on 4-5 day northern trip and it appeared the Wolves ran out of gas instead.

McCallum was selected before Holmes and Matier in the 2019 draft. Laughable. How much confidence do you have in your powerplay unit when you pull your goalie and risk having a clearing pass go in to the empty net.Papineau/Duncanson and the rest of the coaching staff continue to make strategic gaffes that really hurt this team
1-Every fan that watches Wolves games sees how McCallum is not a player that deserves the ice time he is given. He has cement hands and when given grade A scoring chances usually sends cream puff shots in the general direction of the net.Along the boards he is separated from the puck easily and usually ends up flopping on the ice hoping for a penalty call.He was a bad 1st round pick and the Wolves refuse to admit it.
#2-Dylan Robinson is not an adequate overage leader on this team.I am wondering if the injury he sustained last year has adversely hampered his play. His skating is awkward and he can be easily beat on the outside. He is a liability on the powerplay and really is very slow at moving the puck. The powerplay qb is Jacob Holmes. He has an accurate hard shot and his passes are much more crisp. Why is the captain not on the ice in a one goal game with just over 2 minutes to play.He is much more reliable than the cringe worthy Robinson.
#3-I know Toure has been taking bad penalties lately but he has been the best defensive defenceman so far this season. He at the very least should have been dressed before Mauro and should play before Anania.
We need a coaching change desperately to turn this around before it is too late
Not sure if its a glitch on line but when I google searched Michael Derbidge and you scroll down enough on the page it has his name listed with the Erie Otters. When I clicked the link it went to the Erie Otter website with Michael Derbidge stat page up with the Wolves. Not sure if its something that may happen or simply just a glitch online. Something to watch in the next couple of days.

So anything to it?

Could be something could be nothing. If you change the number at the end a different player shows up.So anything to it?

Ok so I’m assuming a glitch of some sort!Could be something could be nothing. If you change the number at the end a different player shows up.
Go crawl back under your rock! Check the standings out. And while your at it watch a game or two!I find it amusing all the player bashing on this Sudbury forum what a joke u have no idea what ur talking about
Looks like some of the players have discovered the forum LOL.Go crawl back under your rock! Check the standings out. And while your at it watch a game or two!

Cant take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
He's a bit of a late bloomer, or at least to be noticed, but with his size, and skating ability, I think the sky is the limit for him. Could do much worse with a late round NHL pick.nice to see Toure get recognitions, he has all the tools needs to take advantage of them.
Absolutely. Just needs to pla under control a little more and he'll be fine.nice to see Toure get recognitions, he has all the tools needs to take advantage of them.
Not sure who Dario confides in but if this team does not significantly better, which at this doesn't seem that way, I'd replace R.P. at seasons end. Also, I'd watch very carefully what he does with the plenty of picks he acquired last season, this season. In other words, I'm not sure I trust him with making sound moves with these picks.Musty a B rating! Yikes does not look good for a #1 overall pick. I think he drops further on this list as the season progresses. I just don't know if the kid is being coached well or doesn't have the hockey IQ or both. Definitely has some skills but the lack of separation speed really hurts him. And shows in his back checking having to take a lot of hooking and tripping calls.
I was hoping for Mania to make a bigger jump in his game and lead this core but something is missing from his game. Not sure if its compete level, consistency. But the Wolves really need him to improve and show more in the coming months. He's projected appropriately however I want to see him strive for more.
Pleased to see Pharand on the list. Wolves salvaged a brutal draft in 2019 by getting him for Stillman along with several high picks. He deserves more playing time especially on the PP where his release is one of the best and most accurate. Not sure why he isn't being used more over players like McCallum.
Toure I hope gets stronger and a bit smarter because his athleticism is incredible. I'm hoping the D coach can really help him along and develop him into a huge piece for us especially if he returns as an OA.

I thought his latest OHL priority draft was his worst yet. Honestly, how does he pass on the opportunity to select the first goalie and a D in the 2nd? In four consecutive drafts he has not selected a D until the 4th or 5th round. That’s absurd imo.Not sure who Dario confides in but if this team does not significantly better, which at this doesn't seem that way, I'd replace R.P. at seasons end. If this takes place, the new GM will most definitely bring in his own people (head coach, scouts etc ).
His construction of this team/draft picks are concerning, in my point of view and I'd be sceptical having him run another draft in the spring.
Will be interesting to watch what transpires the rest of the season.
Come to think about it, Thompson has been the only high pick on the D for sometime. Hasn't been a stud back there in awhile and he was a more of an offensive dman. The wolves have had issues on the backend for some time.I thought his latest OHL priority draft was his worst yet. But with lottery picks in consecutive years along with a 2nd-1st round picked player, Mania, Chromiak all born ‘05, and a huge surplus of 3rd round picks only a lack of patience can get in the way of seriously contending 2024-25.
I am not comfortable with Papineau in charge of the draft, but I’m more uncomfortable with a new ego maniac coming in to blow up a 2-3 yr rebuild around lottery picks so he can build ‘his team’.
Totally disagree: Byfield, Phillips,Murray, Stillman, Goyette, Collins, UPL Weeks are a few that comes to mind who have been NHL Drafted. Add Weeks and his Pro contract, the Pharand Trade, Chromiack coming over, Delic and 06 Draft prospects and I think your focus needs to be re-directed elsewhere…Not sure who Dario confides in but if this team does not significantly better, which at this doesn't seem that way, I'd replace R.P. at seasons end.
