Sudbury Wolves 2022-23 Season Thread

No hustle today!!! Only one guy pressing in the offensive zone won't cut it. Just too many passengers today. Dumb penalties cost them. And big turnovers and defence was not tight. Also could not make two passes without it getting intercepted. Hope to have some new faces in the line up next week. Collins, Chromiak, Villenevue.

McCallum would be sparingly used player on any other team in the OHL.Degrazia must be realizing that he is blowing any opportunity for a pro career next year.Duncanson should be fired for not reining in this undisciplined team.Dario you owe it to the loyal fans to step in and remove Duncanson before the season is lost

This is so funny but true!!!

Three things with this team that need to be improved for starters;

Delete,

Robinson
DeGrazia
McCallum

from the roster and find two more valuable overage players. Add in Collins, Chromiak and Villeneuve and sit out Mauro.

Don't know why Derbidge didn't play in back to back games but you would think if he was healthy you would sub out Walton and Mauro before sitting out Derbidge two in a row.

On a side note...We need more than one line scoring. Expect more from Assadourian who imo may turn out to be a DeGrazia type player in the OHL. All wheels but not much creativity or puck possession.

Nick Foligno just waived by the Bruins. Doesn't sign elsewhere maybe he and Derek MacKenzie can coach this team. Just a thought..

Wolves played a great first period. Degrazia penalty killed them, but still was a lot of time to get back into the game, but Wolves had nothing after that quite disappointing.

Krawczuk first game was ok, I think he's very good close in, but had hard time tracking pucks from point, his glove is questionable at this point. He will need more seasoning and getting used to higher caliber shots in the OHL.

Still lots of work to do with this team. Collins and Chromiak should help this D core. Lot of the vets are off to a slow start need to see more out of them.

30+ shots allowed in every game
40+ shots in 2 of them.

Speaks volume on coaching.

Hopefully Collins and Chromiak know how to play defence because D has been non existant on this team so far this season.

If Chromiak can play defence, I'm sure the wolves will try to fix that.

As soon as the season starts we abandon our strategy and continue to play the same players that couldn't perform last year. It's the same story, with similar results. So sad.

These are the issues I see:
1. Coaching and management is the worst in the league. No systems and nothing being taught. No strategy to develop the young talent so that we can compete in the near future, because I truly believe we have the young talent. Any other staff in the league would play these kids more.
2. Does anybody want to play D on this team. I see 4 or 5 rushes a game from Mania alone and always get's caught in the O zone because he cannot skate or is out of shape. To top it off, he is on the ice more than any D on this team. He is atrocious. We aren't going to win many games when faced with 40+ shots a game. Coaching needs to teach D.
3. I have not been able to understand the love affair with Larmond & McCallum. I'm seeing the same things that I saw last year. These guys can't score - never have, never will. They will have the odd good game, but not nearly enough to make a difference. Larmond is a competitor, but lacks scoring and skating at this level to succeed. I like him, but not nearly enough to warrant the ice time he gets. McCallum is someone I have no use for. Their time has passed, especially for a team that finished at the bottom last year playing those guys.
4. We NEED to play the young kids. They need to be able to make mistakes and learn from their mistakes. With the exception of Musty and Mania, all other young players take a back seat. They broke up our top line last night just to give Musty every opportunity to succeed on the wing with Goyette and Delic. Musty's production based on the amount of ice time received is very underwhelming. He has been a disappointment, but has a leash that's longer than the distance from Sudbury to Buffalo.

Most importantly - Dunc needs to go.

I'm just catching up on the weekend but...Really...There is so much about this post that i so strongly disagree with... "Mania alone and always get's caught in the O zone because he cannot skate or is out of shape"...this guy has no idea what he's talking about.
Actually I'm going avoid responding any further.

If anyone is watching what’s going on in Niagara, Papineau should be calling their GM to get a second or third rounder for Robinson.

Never mind I see what they did today. But still no room for Robinson and I’m thinking Niagara must be at the 30 card limit lol. What are they doing?!?!
