If this kid is a stud, why is he not getting ice time with his current team? Other then the U18, which he did not played great, has anyone seen him play? I think he could easily replace Robinson, but let’s not make him out to be the next Bobby Orr. He is 17 and his draft year, it would a smart move by him to come over.
its hard for any 16 year year old kid to play in a league with former nhlers in. i dont think hed be a top pairing d right away, but he will be a top 4/5 guy to start, top 2/3 next year.

Adding Chromiak would no doubt be great him and Mania would be a great 1-2 offensive punch on the blueline.
they just did ironically. i think he will be a good 4/5 this year but very good next year. if hes still around at 19 he will be outstanding

Brings the current top 6 to some combination of 6 of Toure, Robinson, Holmes, Collins, Anania, Mania, Chromiak.

Seems like a great time to rid ourselves of Robinson his offence is not really needed

Holmes - Collins
Anania - Mania
Toure - Chromiak
Bishop

I think he'll be better this year than you're expecting.
I actually agree with @OHL4Life

I think it’ll take some time for him to adjust to N/A. Sudbury isn’t in a spot where they need him to play big minutes right away. I expect him to play bottom pairing minutes this year and with graduations next year he‘ll play a bigger role.

No one is saying he's Bobby Orr. He's a 17 year old kid that made the Men's team in the top Slovakian Pro league. That's a huge jump for a 17 year old. But he's not getting the playing time on a deep Trencin team. Do your research on this kid. And it's not his draft year, he's a late birth date so eligible 2024 draft. He's a stud for his age group in Slovakia.
I hear you, just people on the forum talk bout a player and get their hopes to high. Now that the kid is coming, we can only hope for the best. I am worried they will cut the wrong defenceman for him.

Chromiak is highly regarded.
((All-in)) for the wolves first championship in 2024-25 I hope

No if we get Dvorsky as well this year then we make a couple smart moves to this year to be all in as well as next year. 2024-25 no thanks...

Lets be honest... Can't carry 8. Our overage and Bishop are the only two IMO. Unless of course Paps does something big with Flint to bring in Othmann and Giroux. Especially if we can get Dvorsky to commit. Of course we would have to give something to make that kind of deal but we have plenty to do it with and not affect us moving into 2023-24. I won't name players who I think we can afford to deal in getting those two guys. Then we would need to get a solid vet d man on the backend to make this team the best possible to contend with Barrie the Petes and Missy in the East.

I think 23-24 is more than year then 24-25. the end of 23-24 likely sees the graduation of Collins and Goyette to the AHL, who knows maybe Konyen and Delic as well if they continue to develop. Assuming that I'm doing my math right on the ages. Don't forget they're likely going to continue the recruitment push on Hage as well.

22-23 02 OAs
23-24 03 OAs
24-25 04 OAs

Great news.
I suppose lots of you will throw away the “ get rid” of papineau petition until you come up with another reason to fire or roast the ownership, management or coaching staff.
I’ll take day 6 on the betting pool

The problem with Papineau is everything is very good, or very bad. The very good of Chromiak, the Thompson trade, the Stillman trade, Ranger trade(Early, but safe to say its looking like a big win), Ruzicka, Pekar are seemingly balanced out by the Ribau trade, both Stratis trades, the Chenier trade(Can argue this one because of the pandemic ending the season but I think Bulitka was the better fit), Purboo, Nizhnikov, Tabak, both Lipanov trades, most of the import drafts.

There's a lot of very good, a lot of very bad, hopefully, we can at least agree on that much. I think the future of the Wolves looks very good right now, possibly one of the best in the OHL, but I think the Wolves Ontario scouts are not getting nearly enough credit for their drafting.

Despite the optimism, the fact is the Wolves are arguably the least successful franchise in the OHL, and possibly the CHL, and I can't blame our fanbase for having become a bit jaded.

I take it you're going back to page 1 of the thread. Well some were not so please when it was confirmed by tweet from Leeson that Chromiak would not be reporting to Wolves training camp. However we all knew that Paps was continuing dialogue as most Slovaks were not reporting to the CHL this year. But when the ice time was limited to Chromiak and would only hamper his own development his camp unlike Tuomaala's made the wise decision to come over and play. I think this was known over a week ago when Hoover was dealt. They didn't want to use one of their cards on Hoover only to have deal him after Chromiak committed. I personally thought it would of been after World Juniors. So lucky Sudbury Wolves and now lets hope lightening strikes twice. Then the wheels will be spinning in this forum as Sudbury will have quite the calls to make. Let's just say the fast tracking kind.

Depending what happens at the deadline this season, any of Miss, NB, Niagara could be contenders next season. In 2024-25 Chromiak, Musty, Mania, Pharrand are all 19. Villeneuve, own goalie, maybe Hague 18. OAs could be Konyen and 60/40 Delic & Collins. That is the year imo.

No reason for this team to be competitive every year and with luck maybe string two go for it seasons. I guess we will see.

North bay is somehow going to have least year, this year, and next year? Niagara has 7 03's, most of whom they traded for, seems like they're trying for something this year. Mississauga is losing Hardie, Uberti, DelBeBelluz, Del Mastro among others, sure seems like this year is their year as well.

What about Paps? We come on here as arm chair GMs knowing what’s best for the team, critical how no imports come or how we can’t get a top level D. Well it’s happened…I’ll be first to say Congrats Paps…keep going…
Well certainly Paps deserves the credit for taking a chance when drafting him like any other GM drafting at the Import Draft. Its definitely a crap shoot. We all know that. But I believe this was more the circumstances that prevailed here. Kid gets told by his agent and reps to stay home and play in a mens league. It didn't go as planned being 17. Kids family says hey my kid has too much talent to sit the bench or not dress. He needs to play in the best league possible for his age. Well the CHL is #1 nothing comparable in Europe for teenagers. Here comes Sudbury!!! Open line of communication with Paps was maintained all along they just happened to call sooner than we all thought and I'm sure the Sudbury brass too.

Let's hope fellow countryman Dvorsky who has played in 2 of 3 games and is a -3 decides to not rush things as well and makes the trek over the Atlantic too. I'm sure both will be World Junior players for the Slovak team come Christmas.
