Ridiculous. I didn’t think it was a slew foot. But you have to call interference. Garbage reffing tonight
What a joke!!! Never seen a penalty taken away after a review for a major. Not even a 2 minute call. Complete garbage.

Larmand plays way too much lol what is DM thinking having him on the ice on the PP and at the end of the game wow !!!! The guy is -2 and just doesn’t produce at all but has the ice time of Sidney Crosby.

Hoping Goyette in lineup tomorrow afternoon. Good effort tonight. PP it is what it is. Not good. No Delic, and Musty makes it even more difficult.

Boudreau not much ice tonight.

Refs - bush

Good effort by the Wolves, reffing questionable tonight. Barlow and Burroughs have NHL calibre shots, impressive. I thought Krawchuk did fine in this game, need a big win tomorrow.

DeGrazia 19 goals sitting on the bench while Larmond/McCallum 8 goals each and Villeneuve 6 goals on the ice. I don’t get it.

Didn’t really have much options. Plus he’s a key face off guy. McCallum taking a low percentage shot that skips out the other side in the last minute then takes a pass off his skate. It was not a good 6 on 3. Really do need Musty and Delic back fast. I was afraid that we would lose games like this because of these injuries. Also missing Anania hurts as well. They deserved a point at least.

I see your point however he did not play well tonight. Can see why coach didn’t put him on at that moment.

Just taking a quick peak in the crease next year. They'll probably go after a top goalie next season. Their grooming Gaulton to be the backup? Krawchuk will have something to say about that. Hes looked decent in his limited role this season.

Here’s why you don’t. This kid was traded after limited play from Niagara to Windsor and is playing great. Save the picks for upgrading in D and develop the goaltending you have. Look around the league. Who are you getting you don’t have to pay the farm for? Another one year stopgap? Your team has a gift in an 05 kid who surprised and is really good, and a young 6’3 goalie who was injured but shows total potential to back him up next year. You really think trading one of these guys is a good idea? As a lifelong Guelph fan I’ll take that trade. All day.

To add some context, those #’s are a bit of an anomaly among 17 yr old goalies that came with playing on one of the very best teams and some what sheltered by Onsuka getting the tougher games. In more important games after the deadline with out the vet G available, Costanzo’s #’s are probably not nearly as pretty

I did not see play so just commenting in general. Refs will call majors and then review to see if it should be reduced to a minor of the same penalty. They do it this way because they cannot call a minor and upgrade to a major. Although infrequent, I have seen penalties reduced.
The problem in this case is there is no minor penalty for slew footing, so the choice is major or no penalty, they cannot change call to interference high stick, roughing etc.
If I am wrong on the rule I don't mind being corrected.

I guess Goyette is out today?
I don't believe the suspension is automatic. Depends I think on ref report. Game report says major not match, that may make a difference

Ok dirty I’ll take that on the numbers with JC. My point is, what is your team willing to give up to get that vet g that will dominate for 2 years? Unless you go after Lalonde who hasn’t had the best season with Erie, but you’ll need to give up a lot. szuatka, Schenkel, Rosenzweig, Zhigalov, even Thornton as an OA will come with a price tags. As we’ve seen at the trade deadline - Sellers market, and likely will have to include young forwards and/or Walton D/Gaulten in the deal. Do you trade away picks and assets, or develop two very promising young tenders who have already reported and are willing to play, who will be ready when Musty, Villaneueve, Walton Mania are vets? Tough call. Euro goalie reporting would be ideal but that’s a huge if. Sudbury played the stopgap game this year and it didn’t work out. And may have bigger question marks in D from what I have seen.

If Krawchuk finishes out the year strong I wonder if they would consider going into 23/24 with a Krawchuk/Gaulton tandem and just give it some time to see what they have & then can upgrade if necessary. Just last season we went into the season with Weeks being a big question mark and he ended up surprising (though he was an OA).

I have seen at least a handful of heat shot or blind siding majors reviewed that became 2 minute minors or no penalty. I saw one devastating hit by Lukin reviewed for a head shot after play went on for an extended period that ended with a NB goal and no penalty for Lukin.
I have also seen a slewfoot reduced to 2minutes for tripping.

Agree. The ref report and league review determines if a suspension is warranted.

The wolves went after an OA goalie with local ties that had never been a starter as a stop gap, not Constantini or Lenox or Vrbetic to be the back-bone of a long play off run.
Is next season ‘all-in’; if it is maybe Simpson or Thornton is the goalie to target with 18 yr old Krawchuk being a very solid back up like Boewen is for London or DiVicentis was for NB last season
