Just might be. That's up to Johnston and Dario
Sometimes l think Papineau is in over his head. He has some players on his roster that are not playable or you get little very production from. He again goes into another season with one goaltender to hold down the crease. How crazy is that? What was he thinking.

Papineau might well surprise us all and do some great things in the coming weeks. I'll gladly eat crow with a little salt and pepper on it.
Don’t set the table just yet. Exactly, what makes us think the guy is even qualified. Spend some money and get a real GM. For me he’s made way more lousy trades than good trades.

Papineau will be on the eve of the deadline picking up the scraps left over. Never fails!

It's just the same old song and dance! We've been wishing and hoping since we drafted Q. Knowing that OHL teams roll over every 2.5 years isn't it time to take a chance to make something happen? I'm not sure that planning to be a contender in Goyette's OHL graduation season is really a good plan.

Not a fan, there is a reason he's been moved twice now.
Numerous players have been traded twice including Zito. Rafts seems to think he’s good enough. And let’s hope he doesn’t haunt us in our 5 games with the Soo the rest of the way. I’d rather him then a couple of guys currently on our roster. Just saying!

He's not better than Konyan, Pharand, McCallum, he might make 4th line.

Wolves need more picks. You look at how some other teams are so well situated with picks at their disposal to make multiple deals and improve their team. If Wolves are to be serious buyers next season, they need more. Smart play would be to sell on some 03's. McCallum and Holmes could bring back good returns if the supply dries up for buyers. Papineau loves to leave things to the bitter end. He did well on the Stillman deal. But another deadline that he needs to do something. Standing pat would be foolish. He's having a hard time building a contender, and running out of time. Dario is getting impatient for a winner

He has more points per game than any of them
Doesn’t matter. The wolves were right not to use a 3rd pick on player with no chance of being an OA.
Pharrand 17, Konyen 18, McCallum same age is the better 2-way player capable of playing on a checking line whereas Sirrizotti is not.
Sirrizotti is no more useful to the wolves than he was the ice dogs. He is a good player with a good centre though. He seemed ok with Gaidamak, he was better with Zito; but not in the plans as an OA and not used in top six, he is really not useful enough.

cherry pick his stats, the player has been a career minus player, doesn't play much defence. He's not terrible has good offensive upside. No GM would move Konyan, Pharand and McCallum for Sirizotti. He would not bump anyone of the players mentioned down the lineup on the Wolves.

Wasn't cherry picking stats. Cub simply stated 3 players were better without any supporting evidence. I have never even seen him play. Thanks for following up and posting supporting evidence.

I would say the majority would say they would keep, Konyen, Pharand and McCallum over Sirizotti not even looking at stats. just on the basis of watching, they are better players than him. Dirty12 pointed out Sirizotti would not make an OA spot on Wolves next season, to burn a 3rd rounder him is a waste for the Wolves. I say majority of Wolves problems has been their defence and goaltending.

The biggest problem for the Wolves is getting their players drafted. Trade larmand right now. The guy is on a 150 penalty minute pace and brings no offence at all while being in the minuses always. If Delic wants to get drafted he needs to be on that shutdown line . He’ll never be a top 6 player but Wolves need to position him in a role he shines.

I would keep McCallum over Larmand because he’s our best and smartest RW. Trade Konyen because he’s worth probably more than others and the team can do without. He’s over his head on the top line. Get a top RW and get a strong 2004 goaltender.

I would also call Kingston and get a solid stay at home D like Brade Haché for Assadourian and Anania. No picks.

That’s how you change a team’s mindset. Its not normal that our 6 Dman are joining the rush all the time.

Some of you are more into this kind of research than I care to be but I’d like someone to analyse his deadline deals. Some that I can remember include getting rid of Culina for an eight which was a joke, he was a great goalie and Kitchener laughed all the way to a good run. Moving Sokolov for Lipanov. Rewarding a heart and soul guy like Bulitka by making a lateral move with North Bay was a head scratcher. The Holmes/Boudreau deal for Thompson was not a good one. Other GM’s would have spun that into a much better return. The Stillman deal was good but only because he was a local and Oke was delusional enough to think he’d make a big enough difference to be worth the cost. I have zero faith in him doing the right things though Il share the crow if wrong and it still wouldn’t make up for past blunders, both trade and draft wise.

You got my vote, send in your application. As far as McCallum, unless you get an offer too good to pass up he goes nowhere and is an OA candidate or even shoe in. Anyone watching the team regularly who isn’t blind should be able to see what he brings. Larmand agree, bye bye. You did forget a goalie though. Maybe the most pressing need.

I find it interesting he's playing on the Wolves farm team in Espanola. Anyone know the story here? Tiny player, but Lucas was 2nd round pick of Erie in 2020. Having a very good season with Espanola. Played on the same Pittsburgh team with Konyen.

Maybe Dario can bring back Sam McMaster.. at 86 he'd probably do a better job

Unfortunately our GM has no creativity. Agreed on Konyen, could get a nice return for him. Considering what Lavoie just went for

Last deadline was a strange one. Many GMs were gun shy not sure if the pandemic was truly over, with really only Hamilton willing to go all in. That, combined with the recent rule change to only permit picks within 4 years being traded conspired against Sudbury last deadline. Paps didn't have to make the deal, he could have kept Thompson, but I think any GM would have had trouble last deadline getting a more 'traditional' return for him. The demand just wasn't there.
