It makes sense to me, that if Toure is on his way out, it would happen at the deadline in January.

Need D right now because of injuries.

I think that Anania > Toure right now but I think Toure's potential is higher and think it would be wise to see how he performs in the 1st half of the season especially considering the ice time he will get. There was a stretch last fall where I thought he looked like our 1D on the team (~5-7 games) but then he kept getting bumped around the lineup moving up to forward and injury/suspension(?) . I think that there is a possibility that Toure > Anania by January.

All this to say that I don't think is a rush to make a decision on him.
You may be right about Toure, but the wolves should go three OA D if wanting to be patient to find out.
Gotta build a big lead over the Battalion in the standings imo.

Actually, if the right piece needed on D is an OA (i.e. Mayer) then yeah I guess Toure is out. There has been talk previously about that D addition being an 04.

I'm curious to see what NB does - I am more convinced now that they may go-for-it for a 3rd straight year.

im not sure if Mayer the right OA defenseman but we should trade Landon and a traffic pick for him as peterborough want him last year then trade Aneria to Barrie for frasca as Barrie need defense and we get strong power forward for musty and goyette

The first idea would be great, flip Toure into your second idea and go Martin from Kitchener instead. Anania is the defenceman the Wolves need to keep

Frasca should be a force at centre this season. I’m not sure he is available though. Savard is a physical LW.
Barrie doesn’t need OA D. They already have two, one much better than Anania. I think they actually have 5-OAs right now.
Krawchuk might interest the Colts.

Diagree.Toure is much more versatile and absolutely a better skater.Anania gets beat repeatedly on the outside and arrives always late in the corners for puck and position battles

Looking at last years usage, the coaching staff disagrees with you regarding versatility unless you consider Toure playing forward versatile. Anania’s plus minus is superior, much better defensively, blocks shots, is positionally superior, takes much less penalties, can play any special team. Toure is all over the place, takes dumb penalties at bad times, can’t trust him on special teams. Yes Toure is a better skater and likely has more upside long term being a late bloomer but Anania is a better player this year.

I doubt the Petes would trade an overage player for another overage overage player. In my opinion they will keep Connor Lockhart, Cam Gauvreau if they trade Mayer and one of Michael Simpson or Jax Dubois as their three overages. They have no room for another one. If the Petes trade Mayer they are going to want a minimum of one 2nd round and either a 3rd or 4th round draft picks for him.

Anania's limited mobility does not equate to being positionally superior.Tbh we need actually both OA's and the more beneficial trade would be for a solid shutdown 19 year old.Chromiak is actually the trade chip because his perceived value is more higher than his performance.

In the playoffs a defenceman who is solid defensively and is willing to block shots is of high value. One of the reasons the Petes won the OHL was the play of Shawn Spearing who shutdown the other teams top players and routinely blocked shots.

As long as paps don't move my boy Delic, he can do whatever he wants to bolster the lineup, but he better not let NB get a jump on trades to upgrade roster. That would be a mistake.
A VERY valid point. Best laid plans are easily scuttled if someone makes moves a little faster... he who hesitates will lose the trade wars. If you're going for it, then do it, go all in.

A solid shutdown 19 year old would be nice but the Wolves need an OA upgrade if they're going to consider themselves contenders. IMO, the whole team needs to figure out their own zone

If I was the GM I would do that once I found Toure a place to play. Fair price

Driving up for Oct 14th game....parking questions, at the rink and is it free??
If you get there early enough, you can park at Wacky Wings on the street or in their lot and just walk over.

I’m with you on Toure. I always thought he was underrated. If he can control in his tendency to take stupid penalties, I think he can be a very useful asset with his size.
