If we peak into next next NHL draft. Only Villy and perhaps Walton looked to get drafted. Maybe I'm missing others.
Awful draft considering the quality of the ‘06 class and the wolves having 2-2nds and the option of using the the 3rd round pick traded for future picks imo.My boy Delic

How was the goaltendingEntertaining game - glad hockey is back.
Really like Owen Protz - looked more like a returning player than somebody trying to crack the team. Have heard lots of good comments about his training camp. He's confident, poised and does not play timid - looks strong physically too.
The player I'm most intrigued by going into this season is K.Walton - looked good tonight, though it's not hard when you're playing with Musty & Goyette. Skates well for a big guy; good hands with that reach; I think he's got good hockey sense from what I've seen; he showed more aggressiveness & physicality tonight like most players do following their rookie year. Very curious to see how he progresses this season - I don't see why he couldn't be drafted in that 4th-5th round range (where Pharand & Mania were taken this summer) with that potential.
tough loss but loving Musty's attitude post game
Looked good to me - I thought it was better than the score shows. On multiple occasions the goalie made the first & second save and defence couldn't clear the puck from the net front. I'd have to see replays but this is what I remember. I was watching Krawchuk more closely and thought he was good. How was the goaltending
I believe it was mustyWhich defender was the coach talking about
During live draft broadcast last season, Stewart mentioned he should be a 1st round pick this season.Entertaining game - glad hockey is back.

come on let it out.Lots of thoughts, most of them negative so I'll keep it to myself.
The only thing I'll say is OHL officials make it real hard to want to watch OHL hockey.
Agree per cent. The D is scary. We have to be looking at a solid 19 year old shut down D.Wolves big line was electric however after that much more impressed me.
Goaltending is going to be fine however the defence is a huge concern for me.
Need to shore it up with a deal early especially with Collins and Mania out.
As for the rookies Taylor and Chitaroni in time will be good players. Protz best of the young d.

There is no room for a replacement level OA on a wannabe contender; Toure has to goHow our D looks right now to start the season:
Anania Toure
Protz Chromiak
C.Walton Pryce
Bruce
Could have something like this by November:
TRADE Collins
Anania Mania
Toure Chromiak
Protz

I do agree. Any other season sure you keep Toure as an OA but in a season you want to contend. The fringe OA's need to go. We have to acquire some legit minute eating Dmen. Last night you saw how three vets controlled the last 10 minutes of the game. Mayer/Smith/Gauverau. Now I believe the Wolves still need to get a solid 19 year old back there and an OA. As well a number 1 centre to play with Musty and Goyette. McConnel-Barker from the Soo would be a great get. Management on this team have some work cut out for them. I don't want to see this team lose games early into the season and just be mediocre. Looking at some of the rosters around the league and there are some really good pieces out there on teams not going for it.There is no room for a replacement level OA on a wannabe contender; Toure has to go
I think the additions should have playoff experience too. The wolves currently have none.I do agree. Any other season sure you keep Toure as an OA but in a season you want to contend. Right now the Wolves forward group the way I see it,
Musty (need a #1 centre) Goyette
Delic Villenueve Pharand
Yearwood McCallum OA Coughlan
Taylor Walton Konyen
Giantomasso
Larmand-trade or release
Mauro -release
Pope-releae
Chitaroni-send down
The defence,
(need a number one OA LD) Collins
Anania (OA) Mania
Protz/Pryce Chromiak
Walton-8th D
Bruce-9th D
Toure-trade
M.Chitaroni- release
Goaltending will fine with the who we have. No concerns
Even then I still don't think it's a deep enough threat for a long playoff run with this forward group. They will need to add another piece at the deadline

I heard Mayer and Goyette 2 good friends and Villeneuve tooMayer deal will probably happen at some point, he's already on record saying Sudbury is interested. He would help the Wolves D core immensely. His all round play, his playoff experience etc. Lots of showcasing last night between these two teams, they make for good trade partners. Petes got a good look at K.Walton (wouldn't be involved in the Mayer deal - would be involved in a package for a bigger fish on the Petes in another trade)
