I still want Lindholm. Living in denial. Want to trade Trouba for Lindholm?
Really can't see anything working right now from most teams minus a blatant overpay.
Issue isn't that Jets think Trouba is the best dman ever and deserves Lindholm back at the least (though some Jets fans seem to push that) Issue is that as a small market club who put the time, money, effort into draft and develop of what was supposed to be a franchise dman, they aren't going to let him walk away for anything less than someone who fits right into that plan. Now they have 2 years to find it.
The Lindholm for Trouba prosposals only made a bit of sense when Anaheim was in cap hell since I suspect Trouba to get paid less than Lindholm. It would be a slight downgrade but at the time the savings would have helped Anaheim fit in the cap. Thats obviously a nonfactor anymore.

What would you want in addition to Maatta in terms of futures (since I'm told straight up isn't quite enough in these forums)?
And, by 'in addition', I mean what would you reasonably want? A 2nd? Something comparable?
Said when all this was going on that one impediment to a deal of Maatta for Trouba, from the Pens perspective, would be cap space this year.
That two year bridge makes it a different story.

Same issues as Winnipeg. He's not displacing Karlsson at RHD and he's a fairly lateral move compared with Cody Ceci (who has less drama). Third pairing is a waste. Even if he bit his tongue and switched to LHD, similar problem. Won't displace Methot and the Jets wouldn't be taking back Phaneuf in a deal.

I've been told this is an overpayment, but I think he supplants Ristolainen as our best Dman if he comes to Buffalo.

Skjei and a 1st
They aren't getting a better D. NYR are only considering this to start with because they have three guys on the left side long term and are really weak on the right side.
I just cannot see Gorton doing both Skjei and Miller. And like when you look around the league, save for someone like Lindholm being made available, I just don't think anyone can top Skjei. Maybe I am a homer, but I just think Skjei for example is noticeably ahead of both Murray and Maata.
Or like, that is if Cheevy deals him soon at least. If he hangs on to him, sooner or later I think someone will make a monster offer. But even when he is signed, with the expansion draft coming up and low cap, it's not easy so you never know.
