PEOPLE!

Many on our board at first were foolish enough to actually consider squandering this valuable currency. I had to argue constantly to give the kids a chance. Now almost no one there would do such a deal.
It was in this context I was referencing those who listened.

------------------

While it is not a substantial, let alone dominant factor,
I do believe GMs have lower level staff read HFB and other sports sites, just on the off chance of either:

a) seeing a trend of interest emerge [eg, complaints about size of goalie equipment, etc.]
and
b) seeing the occasional trade proposal that has legs for both sides, and noting the opinions for same from varied sources

After reading some of your proposals, I'd imagine they wouldn't touch anything they see on these boards. Not that trading youngsters is what the Rangers should do, but your proposals are always beyond horrible for the other team.

no
if a F it will be zuc only.

the ideal deal remains McD for Trouba +
no longer needs to be a massive add due to new contract, but clearly McD will stay unless Jets add enough

and that add is ___________________________

Maybe for you that is ideal. Personally I wouldn't move Trouba for McD straight up let alone add anything.

That would leave 3 of the Jets top D (McD, Enstrom, and Myers) as hitting UFA in the next 2 to 3 years, and only Morrissey as a top 4 option in the pipeline.

What's "ideal" for the Jets is for Trouba to change his mind and re-sign long term this upcoming summer. Following that, what is then "ideal" for the Jets if Trouba is traded, is to get back some young D into the system to offset the fact that besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up with top 4 potential.

Not a chance the Jets move Trouba when he's playing like he is. He's playing like a true #1, and Myers is out with injury. If you want Trouba, you'd better be willing to offer an elite player back.

I'm still going to stick with offering Ryan Murray for Trouba. Maybe add picks on both sides, but it's a fairly even trade.

I would be on board for a trade for Murray if Trouba really wants out.

He has been VERY good the last 2 games, I wouldn't trade him unless we have to.

Arguably pre his new deal, when it was projected to be at least 5.5 or more for 6 years min that McD on his sweetheart deal would command a solid, if not large add ("huge" is pushing it), THEN such size add would fly.
Not now, with Jake at 3 for 2 plus RFA rights.

As of tonight, Skjei leading all NHL rookies in assists!
No, WE need to keep our young core of which he is a jewel
So glad they listened to me and several others about not moving Skjei/Miller!

No, we MUST MOVE VETS instead
Skjei is NOT available
now maybe McD would be if the correct small to medium add could be had
not BS

If he would waive, and Jets would consider a fresh look at Marc Staal, who we can replace with Graves, THAT would be worth a look, but I don' see Jets jumping here

Can you imagine if the Rangers traded miller skjei and a first as some suggested . Thank goodness the Gorton didn't do that

Watching Trouba stepping seamlessly back into the lineup. Price is going up....

No points in last nite's 4-0 shutout of the red hot Hawks but being named 3rd star. I too would say the price is going way up and the chances of him signing a long term deal in the off season has gone up considerably. High mins on RD paired with Toby plus both specialty teams makes for a happy Jake. Crazy but he looks in mid-season form already.
