How can you look at Winnipeg and their situation and offer wingers of any kind. Lol I shake my head.
That's the thing. People don't look at the other team when this stuff comes up. They just hear "might be available" and go "GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE" and start making assumptions about how so-and-so clearly must be valuable enough to make it happen without any regard for the state of the other team.

Due to expansion draft flames won't be taking in another D unless Gio Brodie or Hamilton is moved. There's no way the two latter are moving due to age, so flames best offer would be trouba + for gio.

The thread is "your favorite team's best offer for Trouba".

Toronto's best offer will have wingers. Regardless of Winnipeg's needs. They can't afford to trade D. So I (or anyone else for that matter) don't need to look at the Jets needs to know what the best offer we could make is.

Obviously it wouldn't get it done, and that's okay.

I.E.

Would probably kill LA immediately but if one of Forbort/Gravel/McNabb could feasibly play with Doughty, I'd bite my tongue and...think hard about it. To his credit Forbort has looked really good in that role, but so did McNabb to start last year, and by the end of the year he barely looked like an NHL player....

Have to consider that Muzzin is on a long-term sweetheart deal at 4m and for a team like LA that's clutch, too. But Trouba seems like a DL wet dream given we never replaced Voynov. And LA is full of LHD but is low on RHD--behind Doughty there's Gilbert sort of/temporarily, then LaDue and Trotman. LaDue has a future, but if he could be third pairing it would be like when Martinez was down there with Greene, and Trotman had promise but that's about it. From there it drops off to Cernak.

Not gonna lie, it's really tempting. Glad I'm not DL!

As a Canucks fan, i'd probably cough up Ben Hutton and a small plus for Trouba.

But there would have to be some sort of parallel deal to move Tanev somewhere else for some good young assets, lest the Canucks end up in the same situation with too much quality and money invested in RHD. Unless of course, the Jets had some sort of interest in Tanev in a direct swap for Trouba, which would make things a lot easier.

For me, Trouba's "bridge deal" probably actually subtracts from his value though. You know he's going to be angling for the Ekblad $7.5M deal in two years, and that he'll play hardball and sit out to get it. That hurts his value a fair bit imo, as you're trading for a future monster contract - rather than a Larsson/Rielly/Lindholm/Ristolainen type deal.

many stars fans will hate it because they think Honka is the second coming of Jesus but something around Honka for Trouba.

Honka is just shy of a PPG in the AHL and while I know they want a LD replacement they arent in contention right now and could use NHL ready prospect. Obviously Dallas would add. A first? let me know what you want on top.

Dallas, for the price of the add fast track A RD development to something that is ready now. We then rock Lindell-Kling and Johns-Trouba as a top 4 and our D is looking real nice

So TL;DR Honka+What would get Trouba from Dallas?

MDZ + Sanheim has been mentioned before.

Now it would work without any cap issues for Philly.

He wants to go to USA apparently but still:

JVR
Kasperi Kapanen
Brendan Leipsic

two young NHL ready wingers with tons of upside (who are also destroying the AHL) and a established top line winger with two years remaining.

I'm not sure what WPG would even want though. If they want D, we don't have the depth to trade and D. Our tradable value comes from wingers.

Not saying anything about your players, but that offer doesn't help us in any way. No thx

I'd probably do Ceci plus Colin White, but it overloads us with LHD.
