Kings games tend to do that

Only three of them have been here all season. How do you explain the **** show from everyone else?

This team isn't in a hole due to inexperience, they're in this position because the likes of Kopitar, Gaborik, Muzzin, Martinez, Toffoli, even Doughty are all playing well below expectations.

This team as a whole is underachieving.

And as everyone knows you can't fire all the players so the coach has to go. If DL won't get Sutter out he should go. Anyone else remember how early in the year in his coffee with Bob Miller that DL admitted he knew how to build teams but not maintain a winner? Its showing.

Anaheim, Minnesota, Calgary, and Toronto after the deadline in the next 4 games. Minnesota and Calgary back to back on the road. Things are slipping away. This might be their last chance to try and hold onto some sort of hope.

Gaborik is all but done, the guy is coasting in games, he should be waived.

At least send a message, that his play won't be tolerated.

Gaborik's last 10GP:

0G 1A 1P -3....

If Sutter can't win next year, with a healthy squad and a very solid D, he needs to go, if DL and Anschutz are committed to winning. And they are.

Maybe the Kings can get lucky.

Waive Gaborik, hope a playoff team picks him up off waivers, to catch lightning in a bottle.

I'm so tired of all these Kopitar posts. I'm not saying you guys aren't right but just watching him play and reading about him is getting to me. He's having an extremely disappointing season and looks like it will stay that way.

I understand I am being realistic. Just as I was before Kopitar got his 8 years and $80M.

In the NHL if you aren't on the verge of contending or contending, you should be selling and reloading, or restocking. Dean failed to recognize this team's window was closing. There would have been no shame in taking the great three year run, admitting it was over and getting the table set for the next one.

The next one? They're not that easy to find. Maybe the next one is 10 years from now. Could be 20.

How many teams win 2 Cups in 3 years? Montreal hasn't been the same since the 70's. The Islanders and Oilers haven't been the same since the 80's. The Penguins got lucky to get both Crosby and Malkin so soon after the early 90's with both Lemieux and Jagr. The Wings, Avs, Devils, and Stars aren't what they were between the first and second lockouts, although the Wings managed to stretch things out a bit.

Oh, but if we fire DL and hire Bobby GM, he'll get us back to winning 'chips in no time...

The Kings have to do something to get Kopitar out of his funk.

Obviously, the coaches don't have the answer.

Like I said elsewhere, if one or two guys are underachieving, they might be having issues.

When everyone is underachieving, that's on the coach.

We shouldn't be worse at home with a relatively soft schedule with most of the team healthy than we were on the road with 2 sets of 3 in 4 across the country against a murderer's row of teams with half of our impact players hobbled.

It's not everyone though.

It's unfortunately the guys that matter though.

Several players are having excellent seasons.

Lol, on Wikipedia it says Jim Stephens (a baseball player from the turn of the 20th century) is our head coach. Go now before it's removed :)

He "played six seasons with the St. Louis Browns of the American League from 1907 to 1912.". Thus explaining his old-school philosophy. ;)

Expectations weigh heavily on this team.

ALMOST everyone. Precious few are having good seasons, the ones that aren't are not slightly underachieving, they're downright abysmal.

Any player moves at this point are just DL rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

Nothing can be done for a guy like Gaborik either, that guy is in total coast/retirement mode.

Such lazy/awful play, collecting his paycheck.

Dustin Brown is not playing to the level of his contract, but he has closed the price gap a lot this year. Brownie is playing some good hockey.

When 2/3rds of your alleged top line consists of Dwight King and a player who never ever shoots the puck you are in trouble.

Pearson was bad tonight, just some stupid plays

Well guess I will save on playoff ticket $$.
