No, we don't think that. Every Hab fan I've talked to thinks it was a dirty hit. The only thing more idiotic than the extremely small vocal faction of Habs fans who think that is painting the entire fan base with a generalization like you just did.

It's ok if you think that,"Habs fans" isn't all encompassing and it's fairly clear which ones I'm speaking about, so if you associate yourself with them so be it.

Kreider broke his jaw in college. He had surgery the following week and was back playing approx. 2 weeks post surgery. That's probably a decent guide.

Yeah but this is the Eastern Conf. Finals. Perhaps he could have come back sooner but they were being careful. I guess I'll just have to wait to hear what the reports are, hopefully today.

What ********.

I dont want to hear a ****ing thing out of the Habs fan about Price. That was an accident, this was intent. If Prust doesnt get at least a game (maybe 2, now that it is confirmed as a headshot, how else would his jaw break if it wasnt the principle point of contact?) then this league continues to be a ****ing joke when it comes to player safety.

****ing piece a ****

How could he have a broken jaw? According to Roenick it was a clean hit to the chest!!

Yes of course. However, It was late in BC's season so I am not too sure that importance wasn't all that disimilar as it was an NCAA tournament game. Again, it's just a guideline. It could be the surgery will stabilize things enough. It's not a load bearing joint so who knows.

Beyond the injury itself, there is also the issue of not being able to eat solid food as a pro athlete, at the end of a long season no less.

I don't think that's such a big problem. Anything he needs can be mashed, just give him the power gel cyclists eat during a race...

An absolute game changer. I do not think we get out of the series with two of our top three centers out of the line up. We will no longer be able to roll four lines. We also will struggle with the talent to finish. It's a tough break for the Rangers.

Even IF the Rangers get out of this round, they'll be easy pickings against LA or Chicago. This doesn't end well for the Rangers.

Center is way too important of a position to lose two of your top three guys.

I do not see how we get out of this round this shallow down the middle. Way worse than losing Price IMO.

Brassard will be back, and Miller can fill in for Stepan. This isn't as bad as you're making it out to be.

Also, an asteroid is coming and may or may not get here before the 10.0 earthquake that's about to sink Manhattan into the Atlantic, assuming the nuclear bomb terrorists have planned for Monday doesn't go off first

Settle this next season, too much to lose by trying to settle scores. Next season if McIlrath is ready have him jump Prust and smash his face in.

Assuming Stepan can't go, Carcillo suspended, Brassard ready. What do you do? Reunite the Poo-Brass-Zucc line and let Miller center one of the first two lines, maybe even the first? Or promote Brass and keep Moore on the 3rd?

Liar. He did it on purpose. He did it before to goalies. There was no stick that whacked him to knock him off balance.
:sarcasm:

Francesa said he's hearing 3 games.

Brassard should have been back already. His injury is probably more serious than we've been led to believe. In no way is Miller an adequate replacement for Stepan, particularly defensively.

what a joke this is, some 4th line goon takes out our number 1 center on a clear late hit to the head, and not even a penalty

all these idiots saying it wasnt to the head, how the hell does his jaw break then, anything less than a 4 game suspension is a joke

so pissed at this

I would think that if Miller is the one who comes in, and im not convinced of that given his D lapses, that he would get a shot between Krieder and Nash, no need to break up the other lines...and as the game progresses, Moore would probably take over in his spot.

Endurance athletes and hockey players have pretty different nutritional needs / ideal body mass.

That's true, but still you can make pretty much anything edible for him by puréeing. It's not nice to eat like that, but the psychological aspects are probably worse than the physical. At least concerning food.

Miller is a better skater, and has better hands than Stepan. He will bring much more speed to that position than Stepan ever could.

He is the best option we have right now.

I normally agree with you nevesis but not here. Brassard is still a ? and if he does dress, he might be one hit from having to leave again.

Miller still isn't ready for prime time, especially as a center. Plus, the Rangers have very few righties for forwards as it is.

This will hurt if he and Brassard can't make it back.
