Give what up? He's a disgusting human being. If you tolerate that, that's fine. I'm not telling you to do otherwise (apparently you think I am for some odd reason?).

The first thing you bring up is about his stuff off the ice. The kid has some maturity issues. Plenty of younger guys do. Andrew Shaw made some stupid comments. So did Avery. Avery said some blatantly racist stuff. I don't remember anyone going after him with pitchforks.

I guess, DeAngelo as the hockey player is all I care about and I think in a game where talent and skill mean the most it is foolish to worry about anything else. :dunno:

It's nothing 90% of players haven't been saying for the past 50 years up until the wave of political correctness ran into sports.

Can't believe we got DeAngelo. Tampa and ARZ are going to be kicking themselves hard when they realize what they traded.

They traded a piece of **** who they couldn't get to grow up and change at all during his brief time in each organization. Why do you think teams like that are so willing to move someone who is young and talented? We all know he can play hockey. We don't know at all if he can control himself. So far he's shown that he can't.

This is almost assuredly one of those "wake the **** up" life moments for someone like this. He has needed a kick in his ass for years, now. Perhaps this actually does it.

I'm in the minority, but I don't necessarily think this was a bad trade. Not sure it's a HR, but it's not bad.

Stepan is what he is at this point, and as others have pointed out, the game keeps getting quicker --- which isn't his strongest attribute.

However, there are some definite holes at center at the moment. But I'm not sure this isn't a team that is somewhat recognizing that the window is closed for the moment.

I'm with you, Edge. I'm sort of on the fence myself with it. Want to see what they plan on doing tonight.

Everyone went after Avery with pitchforks.

I think it's more the Rangers were FINALLY looking to fill that black hole, the offensive RD defenseman, that we have been looking for over a decade. And they got it.

I played lacrosse, baseball, and hockey for a decade. Believe me, being a dumb kid you say that **** out there to everyone until you are 21-22. I am not worried about that at all. You shoulda heard some fo the stuff me and my friends would say out there. Now i realize I waa just an idiot, but we never had mal-intent, nor did we appreciate any of it. Who cares. Let it go.

I'm inclined to agree. To say someone is an awful human being or a waste or life or whatever other hyperbolic garbage based on stupid **** they said as a teenager is crazy.

This guy has fought with his own teammates. He's physically abused officials. You act as if this off the ice stuff is something small.

The only source for Avery's alleged racism was Alex Frolov.

DeAngelo was suspended for his nonsense and it was more than just accusations.

It's nothing 90% of players haven't been saying for the past 50 years up until the wave of political correctness ran into sports.

Oh, cool. So let's just roll back to the 50s and do everything the same way.

Then perhaps he can show some form of improvement. Considering he was just again suspended for physical abuse of an official shows me that he's yet to begin on that.

Deangelo is skilled, but what is with this organizations infatuation with acquiring stupid hockey players?

Zibanejad, Hayes, Deangelo, Miller - all immensively talented with half a brain.

People talk about weak drafts/good drafts. I think it's one of those terms that works its way into a conversation, but doesn't have as much depth as some think.

Generally speaking, most drafts tend to produce around the same number of players. However, some drafts require a team to do a little more homework than others. In the end, the success or failure of the Rangers draft this year will likely have more to do with the job the scouts have done, then how the draft is "perceived."

If Gorton thinks his guys have some identified some players, he's going to go with it. Otherwise he trades Stepan for an NHL player.

In this case, he now has two first rounders, cap space, and a promising, if not flawed prospect.

Let's see what happens.

If Mittelstadt get taken before 7 either Makar or Heiskanen could fall into our laps. That's kind of what I'm hoping for now.
