It was a static day for the pool standings. Only three players were in action, and Eric Cernak, Dennis Malgin and Timo Meier were each held off the scoresheet. Nothing to report.

An assist was added to Alex Nylander's opening day performance. Which is awesome, because it reminds me what a terrific decision I made to not grab him when I was given the chance during that draft reshuffle.

you never had the chance, you would have if I could have taken Soderstrom, but he was taken before me again during that whole mess so I stuck with Nylander :)

Too bad that USA couldn't score a goal today... 46 shots. It could have be another sweet win for Nedeljkovic and good 2 points for me.

Anyway, Russia - Finland game is looking great for me. Laine 1+1 and Kaprizov PP goal. And Zboril with one assist.

Edit: 1+2 for Laine. :handclap:

we should all get to have a Soderstrom. I think it's the only fair way to resolve this situation :sarcasm:

It just shows how crazy this tournament is, that Soderstrom was almost done a game ago. He was terrible in the pretournament games and he wasn't great in the team's opener either. I'm not even sure why he got the start today, but it was a heckuva great call in the end.

I don't think anybody really saw this coming, but Georgiev has been great.

So I guess I have to stick with the same goaltender. Maybe next year instead of a certain goaltender you just pick a team so you have the chance to get some points there. Its hurts me badly that my goalie was the predicted #1, but now he is the backup. Just a suggestion, because its not the first time and its kind of a big impact on the standings.

The plan was probably to play Söderström against USA and Sandström against Canada, two fairly even opponents. Now I don't know what will happen.

It's no different than picking a guy you think will be on the top line and becomes the 13th forward.

That's the risk you take.

from now on we should pick lineup spots and not player. With my 1st overall pick I'll take USA's #1 center slot, I hope their #1 LW is still there at my next pick :sarcasm:

Much easier to predict who will be the key contributors. If you are the 13th forward you still play, and a goalie is a potential 4 pointer. I agree with the risk, but its still something to consider.
