Looks like the early access goes live on 8/31 at 8p on the east coast and 5p on the west, lucky bastards
Saving $100 is definitely worth it, but it’s going to be tough to resist paying for early access. If it wasn’t coming to Gamepass I’d definitely pull the trigger.
If it was just an extra $30 I’d do it. But it would be an extra $100 out of pocket for me since I already paid for 3 years of game pass earlier this year and I can play StarField on game pass for free starting Sept. 6th.I'll still be playing in six months so the "savings" of GP is lost by then. The extra 30 also gives you the first big dlc.
Yea, I was also gonna game pass it but the risk is that if it is good I'm gonna have to buy it anyway since I'll be playing it for a long time, and frankly I don't buy/play many new games so I can't justify GP beyond Starfield.I'll still be playing in six months so the "savings" of GP is lost by then. I just went to the Xbox app on my PC to start my preload, and there's an option to pay $35 and upgrade to the Premium Edition, I'm assuming because I'm a Gamepass Subscriber. Just a heads up. I'm probably going to do it. 5 days early and first DLC is worth $35 to me.If it was just an extra $30 I’d do it. The way I look at it, StarField is giving me $60 in value back of the $180 I paid for 3yrs of game pass. I don’t see it as the savings will be lost if I’m still playing it in 6 months. I look at that as part of the value of game pass. If it was only going to be on game pass for 6 months that would be different. But afaik it will be on game pass permanently.
I’m sure I’ll buy the DLC when it comes out though.
I did see that but I figured that was for people that bought the game on disc and wanted the extra stuff for 35, but it makes sense it would apply for GP people alsoI just went to the Xbox app on my PC to start my preload, and there's an option to pay $35 and upgrade to the Premium Edition, I'm assuming because I'm a Gamepass Subscriber. I took advantage of that Xbox gold to game pass ultimate conversion deal they had running for a while. You could convert up to 3 years of Xbox gold to Xbox game pass ultimate at a 1:1 conversion rate. Gold is only $60 a year. I bought the full 3 years of gold and converted it all to game pass ultimate. I dont think I would have subscribed at full price. But for what I paid it’s worth it.Ah, well if you're a GP holder I see your point, but I've been through the game pass library when i got my Series S 30 months ago and I didn't renew it, so I'd have to resubscribe. With nothing else on xbox I want to play in the next six months I'd literally be getting it for only one game. As I mentioned earlier, I've bought Skyrim multiple times, it's a game I go back to yearly, I don't see why Starfield would be any different. For me, paying for the game once instead of paying monthly for a service, it makes the most sense.

I’ve avoided the leaked gameplay. Don’t need to see terrible quality videos. The more I see of leaked gameplay the more interested I am.
22 hours now!28.5 hours till early access
Same here, I'm hoping the reviews touch on that.Hoping this runs half decent on Series S
It’s sitting at 90 on Metacritic, and 87 on Opencritic…Middling reviews so far! Kind of shocked, but can't wait to check it out anyway.
Oh that's good. The first three I read, IGN, gamespot, and Polygon were all much lower. Gene park, motherboard, vice, and gerstmann seem to like it a lot more. It’s sitting at 90 on Metacritic, and 87 on Opencritic…
This is a good review. Four people, all varying opinions. I think this game really will be what you make it. I would hate to have to mainline a game like this to get a review out.
