In order to tell a story you need conflict. I suppose that's a way of introducing more of it.I just think it opens up storytelling possibilities and feels true to what I understand about how power works
For ME Star Wars is a fairytale and classic struggle between good and evil.
I actually think making the Jedi corrupt is a cheap way of creating drama/conflict.
"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire."
That sounds epic. It's romantic. I'm much more interested in the Jedi being a force for good.
