It was just kind of jarring for a Star Wars trailer. After watching it a couple more times I already tuned it out.Game of Thrones did some promos with contemporary music like Florence and The Machine and Candy Bar Creep Show.
I love this idea. My only minor complaint is that it's on a Tuesday and not a weekend day/Friday where I have more time to watch all 3 episodes. The release schedule is interesting. We'll get three episodes every Tuesday, and each weekly set will take place in a different year. It'll be like getting a TV movie every week for 4 weeks.
Especially with the success of Season 1 and this season's budget, I would've expected Disney to stretch it out over 2-3 months to maximize subscriptions, not cram it all into a single month. I remember that Tony Gilroy also arranged Season 1 into sets of three episodes (though they were stretched out over 2 months), so maybe he lobbied for this release schedule and Disney acquiesced. Perhaps that's a sign that Disney hasn't imposed itself on the show any more this season than last. We'll see.
Hopefully the plotlines at least find their way into novels/comics.Probably the most excited I've been for a season of television in quite a while. Kind of concerned they're really rushing things by trying to cram 4 years into one season, originally I think they wanted to do four or five seasons to end at the beginning of Rogue 1.
Hopefully it's because they wanted to put Tony Gilroy on another SW project.
New teaser without the dumb music:
Wasn't it announced when season 1 came out that there would be time jumps in season 2 and that it would cover more time? Most excited I've been for a season of television in quite a while. The original plan was to do five seasons corresponding with every year BBY, but they truncated it down.Wasn't it announced when season 1 came out that there would be time jumps in season 2 and that it would cover more time?
I could swear they announced sometime around season 1 that season 2 would cover more time...The original plan was to do five seasons corresponding with every year BBY, but they truncated it down.
Keeping up the quality of S1 for another four years would be a daunting task.
It may have even before S1 premiered.I could swear they announced sometime around season 1 that season 2 would cover more time...
Considering how much two seasons cost, Star Wars is an expensive IP in general to produce, no surprise this one's only two season. Ahsoka season 1 was apparently relatively cheap. Not a lot of location shoots, greens screens and The Volume lowered costs.
I think Skeleton Crew was definitely a "win". For an 80's kid, it was bliss. All the Youtube reactors loved it too.It may have even before S1 premiered.
Seeing the production cost, it being a slow build in terms of attracting viewership and being on a losing streak with SW series, I’m just glad we get a second season.
I was talking prior to Andor. I loved Skeleton Crew. Hopefully Disney will build on these town shows.I think Skeleton Crew was definitely a "win". For an 80's kid, it was bliss. All the Youtube reactors loved it too.
It was cut down because Tony Gilroy and Diego Luna didn't think they could handle spending ten years on just this project. Hence cutting from every year gets its own season to every year gets its own three-episode arc. Most excited I've been for a season of television in quite a while. I'll watch it.
I dont find myself getting excited for SW shows anymore but i'll still give it a go.
I liked S1. Other people tout the show and the best thing since sliced bread which i dont really agree with but it on a short list of good/ great tv shows.
Id probably rate Mando S1, S2, Tales of the Jedi and Ahsoka (just because shes one of my favorite SW characters so im biased) all above Andor.Yeah, it was a really good show. But some the comments are a little hyperbolic.
I think because Star Wars fans have been craving a really good Star Wars show that they overrate the first really good one that comes along.
It was probably an 8 out of 10 show for me, so I still really liked it. Just think it falls short of the great shows.
I'm a sucker for almost everything Mandalore related due to Clone Wars and Rebels so I quite liked Mando season 3 as well. I think Andor was missing one key aspect of Star Wars: a multitude of alien races. Seemed like everyone was a human in the show. Acolyte and Skeleton Crew covered that aspect well, so they felt more like happening in the Star Wars universe, especially the latter.Id probably rate Mando S1, S2, Tales of the Jedi and Ahsoka (just because shes one of my favorite SW characters so im biased) all above Andor.
