Online Series: Star Wars Andor on D+

I think its an attempt by Disney to market the show as more "fun".

Likely in response to the biggest complaints of season 1 being slow or boring.

Hopefully it's just for the trailer and doesn't affect the actual show.

The release schedule is interesting. We'll get three episodes every Tuesday, and each weekly set will take place in a different year. It'll be like getting a TV movie every week for 4 weeks.

Especially with the success of Season 1 and this season's budget, I would've expected Disney to stretch it out over 2-3 months to maximize subscriptions, not cram it all into a single month. I remember that Tony Gilroy also arranged Season 1 into sets of three episodes (though they were stretched out over 2 months), so maybe he lobbied for this release schedule and Disney acquiesced. Perhaps that's a sign that Disney hasn't imposed itself on the show any more this season than last. We'll see.

I love this idea. My only minor complaint is that it's on a Tuesday and not a weekend day/Friday where I have more time to watch all 3 episodes.

Rewatching season 1 of course to get ready for season 2.

I remembered the first arc being intriguing but much slower. But honestly, while there's not much action until the third episode, this first arc had me on the edge of my seat even knowing what happens. Wow. The shots are just beautiful and then you have some amazing acting with like a suspense/thriller type feel even though there isn't much action. Kindve crazy what the ego of a few lowly soldiers kicked off. I definitely didn't remember the first arc being so good but it was fantastic.

I really wish season 2 was released arc by arc in theaters. I'd absolutely pay up for that.

Most excited I've been for a season of television in quite a while. Kind of concerned they're really rushing things by trying to cram 4 years into one season, originally I think they wanted to do four or five seasons to end at the beginning of Rogue 1.

Hopefully it's because they wanted to put Tony Gilroy on another SW project.

Hopefully the plotlines at least find their way into novels/comics.

If you had five seasons of a show the quality of S1 of Andor you'd have compitition with The Wire.
