Post-Game Talk: MTL lose 5-2 against OTT

Jordan weal was clutchier than Newhook.
Lots of reasons we lost this game, Newfhook not one of them. Top line was owned, Matheson continued his controller disconnected plays, Guhle can’t hold onto his stick, Hudson invisible in a physical game, Armia MIA other than a great pass to DVO, Savard bulking up to play Squirrely Dan in the Letterkenny movie.

I can't lie there's another Habs fan where I work and recently the guy's been so insufferable lmao. Like he doesn't realize how stupid he looks telling Leafs fans "ohhh yeah we're coming now boiii you guys better watch out" all I'm saying is that it's that guy's fault we lost tonight, and please for the love of god some of you please stop being cringe lords about your fandom.

The Martin St-Louis era needs to end sooner than later.
Easy, easy............I have a couple of issues with MSL but he is part of the reason we are in the mix.......
He and Nick not being able to get this team ready, is a huge concern right now.

The habs need 20 mirrors in the room right now. 21 if you count Marty's.
We lost in the opening seconds.....and man the refs were awful.

After watching Struble and then Carrier blow their coverage each leading to a goal, you knew the night would be long. Xhekaj wont be worse, he needs to go in.

Tough crowd. But not surprised. We are a pretty entitled and unforgiving fan base.

I remember in March of 1979 watching a game against Detroit when Montreal was in the midst its four Cup run and they lost a meaningless game to the then lowly Red Wings. The fans booed the team, rather lustily, as they skated off the ice at the end of the game.

Tough crowd.

It's weird for me to see an NHL coach who's still pretty green do this old dinosaur way of coaching. I know MSL never cared much for defense... But the team was always better when Savard didn't play and when Matheson had 15-17 minutes of ice instead of 32+.

Xhejai being in the dog house like this also really doesn't make sense. I have a feeling its become personal at this point. Also play Pezz has got to be a slap in the face. Can we really afford to play him?
There was a reason Xhekaj was never drafted, if he makes an NHL career of it will be as a 7D.

Can't win em all .They weren't prepared. As i have mentioned quite often if the oposition shuts down the #1 line we don't have much else.Hopefully Demidov provides some secondary scoring.Laine seems to be moving/skating faster.Slaf just awful again.

It's much worse when the #1 line shuts itself down.
We've seen them stymied in the past but what we haven't seen is them losing the go differential game to that extent.

Rookie?

Xhekaj is a 24 year old tweener 6th-7th D who has shown he doesn't have the consistency to play every night
My bad, I guess his rookie days are over based on the number of games played, although his age still fits in within that criteria.

About his consistency, when you're skating on eggshells, cautious about making a mistake, and knowing your mistakes carry more weight, then in my opinion it's not what I would consider as optimal coaching.

Xhekaj SHOULD be in the lineup.

But never at the expense of Struble or Carrier. Both are much better defenseman than Xhekaj.

However, Xhekaj should draw in over Savard who has been horrible for weeks now. The only player even somewhat as bad as Savard has been Matheson, but he eats a lot of minutes, so he's much more important.

Caufield is able to play with other players, we saw it near the beginning of the season playing with Evans so it wouldn’t be an issue if it’s to place Demidov in a better position.
I'm certain that Caufield and Demidov would be dynamite. He would love Demi even more than Suzy.

Seriously, their styles are a perfect match.

Seems like Matheson is trying to do too much. Now that Hutson has supplanted him as the #1 perhaps he’s trying to hard to be the big dog again. Biting him in the ass.
It's just that his brain processes very slow, which also explains his decision making and why he doesn't make the obvious play right away.

Things get scrambled in there...
